🕐 Daylight Saving Time Reminder: Spring Forward This Sunday! To all our wonderful clients and their families: Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour this Sunday, March 9th at 2 AM. This time change can be especially challenging for seniors and those with memory issues. Here are a few tips to help make the transition smoother:
• Gradually adjust daily routines over the next few days
• Keep regular meal schedules (just one hour later)
• Make sure all clocks, including medical devices, are updated
• Use the natural light to help reset sleep patterns. Our caregivers will ensure all our clients transition smoothly through this change. We're here 24/7 to support you and your loved ones – even if it feels like 23/7 this weekend!

Title: Creating a Robust Senior Care Organization

Cottage Caregivers is a family based senior care agency, overseen by a majority female management team. For over a decade, Cottage Caregivers has been dedicated to providing care for seniors who often have cognitive impairments or mobility issues.

The leadership and management team has always aimed to grow the organization allowing a greater access to care which is much needed. The team utilizes an integrated approach, which embraces the family-oriented aspects and meshes it with highly meticulous operational and technical enhancements, yielding a robust
engagement driven approach.

Four key focus areas:

Participative Decision Making: The first focus area is fostering a decision-making process that encourages participation
from all levels, instead of a top-down approach.

Technology and Infrastructure: The second area has been the implementation of necessary technology and infrastructure.

Metrics: The third focus area is the development of a deep understanding of specific metrics to monitor operational performance.

Engagement and Responsiveness: The fourth focus area is maintaining responsiveness and agility in interactions with all
stakeholders including clients, employees, families, care managers, referral partners and community leaders.

Navigating the back-to-school season and the start of fall bring a mix of excitement and change.

As a caregiver, you play a vital role in helping your loved one navigate this new rhythm. Here are a few tips to make the transition smoother:

Establish a Routine: Stick to a regular daily schedule as much as possible. This provides a sense of security and normalcy.

Plan Ahead: Prepare everything the night before – medications, outfits, meals. A little prep goes a long way in reducing morning stress.

Ask for Help: Don't be afraid to lean on family, friends, or respite care when you need a break. Taking care of yourself is crucial.

Embrace the Season: Take in the crisp fall air, enjoy a warm apple cider together, or watch the leaves change. Small moments of joy add up.

Open Conversations: Talk openly with your loved one about any anxieties or fears related to the new season. Validation and reassurance are powerful tools.

Remember, it's okay to not have all the answers. You're doing your best, and that makes a world of difference. Take things one day at a time, and don't hesitate to reach out to your support network when you need guidance or a listening ear.

You got this, caregivers! Your love and dedication make all the difference.
