Midwifery care matters. Midwives center care around the whole person. They listen deeply. They take time. They see the physical, emotional, cultural, and social layers that shape someone’s experience of pregnancy and birth. In a world where healthcare can feel rushed and impersonal, midwifery restores something essential: the feeling of being truly known, heard, and respected at one of the most vulnerable and powerful moments of life.

The impact of midwifery extends far beyond the birth itself. Midwives support families through education, emotional reassurance, advocacy, and continuity of care. They hold space during joy and fear, during strength and uncertainty. For many, a midwife is the first provider who truly believes in them—who says, you are capable, and I am here with you.

Re-introducing Melinda! Melinda is one of our stellar birth assistants, bringing a strong background in emergency medicine as a trained EMT. You may catch Melinda supporting families at a birth or during the week at the birth center helping out in clinic, where her calm presence and clinical skills truly shine. Even on her days off, Melinda continues serving her community as an EMT, making her a steady, knowledgeable, and deeply dedicated part of our team.❤️

Meet Moriah!
Moriah is a senior midwifery student and a valued birth assistant who brings years of hands-on experience and a deep love for supporting families through pregnancy and birth. During the week, she can be found in clinic providing thoughtful prenatal and postpartum care, and she also attends births in her dual role as a student midwife and birth assistant. Moriah’s passion for this work shines through in the compassionate, steady support she offers families during this incredibly meaningful time.❤️

We are over the moon excited to welcome Ariane into the practice! Ariane is a Certified Nurse Midwife who is entering as a Midwife, as well as an APRN to offer prenatal care, well women visits, dating ultrasounds, and so much love!

Meet our birth assistants!🤩
A birth assistant at Gentle Landing supports the midwife and family throughout labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. They help prepare the birth space, monitor supplies, provide hands-on assistance during labor and birth, and support the comfort and safety of the family.❤️
