It all started with a promise.

Thirty years ago, our founder made a commitment to his grandmother - one that would become the foundation for something much bigger. That promise came to life in our very first community in Salem, Oregon: a place designed to feel warm, welcoming, and rooted in purpose and belonging.

From the beginning, it was never just about creating a place to live. It was about how people experience aging, and the role we can play in supporting that journey with care, intention, and respect.

What began in Salem has grown into 23 communities across Oregon, Washington, and Montana, touching thousands of lives along the way. And while we’ve grown, our purpose remains the same: to be a steady presence for those we serve.

To create meaningful moments.
To support people in living life to its fullest.

As we mark 30 years, we also look ahead. With the move of our home office to Beaverton, we’re strengthening how we support our communities, so we can continue showing up in the ways that matter most.

Behind every warm welcome is a team of leaders who care deeply about the people who call this place home. Today, we’re highlighting one of the individuals who helps our community feel connected and truly at home.💙

We’re honored to introduce our Executive Director, Kathy Willard, at The Springs at Sunnyside.

Kathy’s passion for serving older adults began in childhood while caring for her grandmother alongside her mother. Through that experience, she saw firsthand the importance of compassion, advocacy, and honoring each person’s unique story. It shaped her deep belief that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to live their best life — a belief she carries into her leadership each day as she supports residents, families, and team members alike.

She brings six years of experience from The Springs at Lake Oswego, where she most recently served as Food & Beverage Director after helping open the community in 2019 as Business Office Manager. Throughout her time there, she upheld the values of The Springs Living, building strong teams, fostering collaboration, and leading with integrity. Her desire for continued professional growth, combined with her deep connection to our culture and mission, has positioned her to lead with clarity, purpose, and heart.

We’re grateful for Kathy’s steady leadership and the compassion she brings to our residents, families, and team each day.
