Got a little one with pink, crusty eyes? If it’s viral or bacterial pink eye, it spreads easily. While viral pink eye usually clears on its own within a week or two, bacterial cases need a prescription antibiotic. We can help figure out what’s going on and guide treatment. Meanwhile, try these tips to ease discomfort:

✔️Gently clean with a warm cloth
✔️Avoid rubbing or touching
✔️Lay a warm washcloth over eyes until it cools
✔️Use lubricating (not redness-reducing) drops
✔️Wash used washcloths and bed linens with hot water and detergent daily to avoid spreading

✔️ Use air purifiers & keep HVAC filters maintained
✔️ Avoid mold by tossing rotting pumpkins quickly
✔️ Wash clothes regularly with hot water, especially after being outside
✔️ Wear an N95 mask during yard work and leaf raking
✔️ Try saline nasal spray to clear mucus from nasal passages
✔️ Use a nasal rinse to wash away allergens more thoroughly
