October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day—a time to honor grief that’s often carried quietly and to hold space for the many paths to and through parenthood. 💜🕯️

In recognition of this day, we’re sharing five copies of Held Together by Dr. Rebecca Thompson. Through stories of infertility, pregnancy loss, caregiving, and resilience, it reminds us how connection and compassion can help us heal—both as individuals and as a community. 🌿 Among the shared memoir’s voices is WHA’s own Dr. Dafna Lohr, who cared for Dr. Thompson during the pregnancy at the heart of the book and whose own story appears under the pen name Devorah.

đź’¬ How to participate:
Leave a đź’ś or a word of remembrance, resilience, or hope in the comments.

❤️ Around the world, countless individuals dedicate themselves to lifting up voices that often go unheard. ❤️

Through global activism, they challenge systems of inequality and fight for justice. In communities everywhere, organizers bring people together, creating networks of support and empowering others to take action. ✨

đź’ť Many healthcare advocates work tirelessly to ensure that everyone has access to the care and resources they need, especially those who face barriers or marginalization.

These efforts remind us that change is possible when people raise their voices for others, stand together and champion causes that make a real difference. 📣

🌟 Happy National Midwifery Week! 🌟

This week, we join others across the country in honoring the vital role midwives play in healthcare and in our communities.

Midwives believe everyone deserves care that’s fair, accessible, and respectful. They listen, empower and tailor care to each person’s needs.

đź’ś Whether guiding teens through their first gynecologic visit, supporting people through pregnancy and childbirth or helping with the menopause transition, midwives meet each individual with expertise and respect.

By blending the heart of midwifery with the resources of our integrated practice, WHA’s board-certified nurse-midwives offer the best of both worlds: compassionate, empowering care backed by comprehensive medical support. ✨

We’re grateful for the dedication, compassion and leadership our midwives bring—shaping care at the bedside, in our communities and in the conversations that move healthcare forward.

Thank you to this amazing team! đź’›

🧾 Breast cancer risk isn’t the same for everyone. Tools like the Gail Model help estimate risk, but they don’t tell the whole story—especially for people with strong family histories, genetic mutations, or those at higher risk of earlier or more aggressive disease.

That’s why your provider’s guidance is so important in creating a screening plan that fits you. Annual mammograms starting at 40 are the standard, but your plan may need to start earlier or include other tests.

👉 Learn more in our full guide:

Breast cancer screening isn’t one-size-fits-all. Learn how breast imaging, risk assessment, and provider guidance shape the best plan for you.
