Sadly we have lost another cherished member of the Medical Specialties family. Wayne Lae was one of MSI’s first employees. He was a vital member of our team for decades, with the ability to carry out any task involved in our daily operation. Many respiratory therapists around New Orleans will remember Wayne delivering rental ventilators in the middle of the night. His knowledge and dedication was a true asset, and he was a joy to work with. We extend our deepest condolences to Wayne’s family and loved ones.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved Jan has passed away. Jan Chategnier, or Jan Chimento as some of you knew her, was a force larger than life whether it was as a respiratory therapist, selling medical devices, or acting on a local New Orleans stage. She was a part of the Medical Specialties team for well over a decade. Even when she left to take over her family’s brass business, she remained a member of the MSI family. She continued to bring her special cookies to all of our sales meetings until she and Greg moved to Biloxi a couple of years ago.

Outside of Medical Specialties, she could be found on stage in many New Orleans theatres, most notably in Late Night Catechism. While we will greatly miss her, I’m sure everyone is smiling and laughing with her in Heaven. We love you Jan. ❤️

It is with both sadness and gratitude that our Medical Specialties family wishes to pay tribute to Terry Forrette. As a brilliant therapist and a natural born teacher, Terry touched the lives of countless numbers of Respiratory Therapist in our southern region. He had a special gift for taking difficult concepts and making them understandable. Terry always encouraged those he taught, whether in an educational or clinical setting, and provided a learning environment where everyone was welcome and engaged.

We were blessed to have Terry as part of the Medical Specialties family and for many years he taught our customers about our therapies. We extend our prayers and deepest condolences to his family along with our gratitude that they shared him with all of us.
