Casa de los Angelitos strives to provide a safe, compassionate, and structured living environment for women in crisis pregnancies. Encourage its residents to continue their education, establish goals and move forward in a positive and responsible way to ensure a happy and productive life for their new family. Located in Harbor City, California, Casa is a 501©3 non-profit, non-denominational maternity, housing/educational program for homeless, pregnant women who are in crisis situations. Casa has been in existence for 32 years assisting over 800 pregnant women throughout their pregnancy, and 3-4 months after birth while aiding in the transition of secure housing.
Our goal is to transition our residents from a life of dependency and hardship to a life of self-sufficiency by assisting our mothers to attain proper healthcare, mentally and physically to better their overall well being. Our residents come to our shelter from all walks of life. Most have histories of domestic violence, lack health care and the emotional support needed to sustain a healthy pregnancy. With homelessness on the rise, Casa accepts mothers seeking shelter in the Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernadino County as well as surrounding areas.
Casa’s five-bedroom, 2600 sq. ft. home is located in a residential neighborhood in Harbor City just minutes from hospitals, schools, shopping centers, churches and entertainment. Without the continued support of donors, volunteers, staff, and a dedicated working Board of Directors, who are all volunteers, Casa would find it hard to provide the care, education and comfort to many distressed mothers in crisis situations.
