Hello all,

It is with a very heavy heart we provide the following update on Bridget.

A few short months ago, we found a growth on her pancreas. Biopsy revealed a highly aggressive form of cancer with “an acquired genetic mutation”. Meaning something, most likely a virus (like CoVID), added a gene to these already aggressive cancer cells that makes them 100 times more rapid growing and resistant to any kind of potential treatment. It is considered 100% fatal. Although we caught this early and before she even had any symptoms, she only responded favorably to all our efforts for a short time. We have been quiet about this as we fought the good fight before making it public. We were hoping to announce by spring that she beat this. Unfortunately, the genetic mutation kicked into hyper drive and the cancer is now everywhere. She is now in hospice. At the current pace, it is estimated she has a few weeks, maybe a month.

She will soon need around the clock care and we will be closing the office in a week or two so we can spend her final days with her. Please keep her in your prayers for a peaceful and pain free end. As you may imagine, we are all devastated and grief stricken beyond anything we could ever put into words.

A personal message from Bridget:

Hello all.

I am sad to be leaving you. My love and gratitude to every one of you. I feel so very blessed to have so many cherished clients who gave me the opportunity to help with their health goals over the last 25 years. There are truly so many of you!

I hope that this loss will not shake your faith in holistic medicine. 29 years ago, I was given 3 to 6 months to live. Alternative medicine gave me these extra 29 years. And despite this loss, I still believe that holistic medicine has much to offer in the vast majority of cases. I have been training my daughter, June, since she was child. And with this last decade, she has acquired skills and knowledge beyond my own and became my teacher and mentor as well. June has been absolutely amazing through this final journey. I am so blessed to have her and Dale in my life. I am certain I’m leaving you all in excellent hands. Though I have no doubt she’ll feel my loss keenly for the rest of her life, it gives me comfort to know that she will be carrying on my legacy.

Hello everyone,

We know it’s been a while since we’ve given an update on how Bridget is doing. We wish this post brings good news, but unfortunately this is more or less of a “no news is bad news” post.

Bridget’s vision is not improving (at the moment, the lack of vision in the right eye is having days where the symptoms are worse). There is still no prognosis on whether or not this will improve, so we continue to put one foot in front of the other and take things day by day. 🙁

We still want to thank everyone who have made donations to help with personal medical funds so far. 💜

We still want to thank everyone who has come in to have June be of help in your health needs (you have helped us keep the business doors open). 🫶

We still thank everyone who has had us send Bridget their best wishes and hugs. 🫂💕

Hello all,
Just an update on Bridget’s vision loss. She was blessed to get an appointment with a neurological ophthalmologist last Tuesday. (It’s a rare specialty that most people wait years to get in for a consult).
The doctor and her staff were very thorough and spent nearly 4 hours analyzing everything about Bridget’s eyes and optic nerves. Unfortunately, the news was not what we had all been hoping for. Although her optic nerve is now stable, the vascular damage and scaring to the retina and macula remains and there are no options for repair. The right eye in particular is painfully light sensitive and has scarring that is pulling and causing a constant burning pain that is making sleep difficult. The only option at this stage is to avoid putting any kind of strain on the eyes, rest as much as she can and hope that there is some kind of improvement in the next 4 to 6 months. The probability of her ever recovering full vision and being able to return to work has been deemed ‘highly unlikely’ at this point.
Of course this is not the first time Bridget has been told she is beyond help and with Dale’s unwavering love and support, by the grace of God she managed to heal herself. So, she, Dale and June continue to pursue all holistic avenues and praying that her sight eventually returns.
A huge “Thank you!” to everyone for your prayers and especially those that donated to the GiftSendGo fund. Seven months without Bridget’s income has been as devastating as the vision loss and sadly, getting on disability is a very long and complicated process that takes years when you own your own business.

Update for THURSDAY April 3rd:

The office is still non-functional. So unfortunately, we are still closed. 😔

Power does seem to be getting restored around us, so we're hoping to be back up and functional by the weekend.

As an added insult-to-injury: June has come down sick this morning. 🤧
(We expected this after the latest bout of cold and flu swept through our office with everyone coming and going from Spring Break).

We were already planning to be out of the office next week in preparation for this happening, so we will be still be closed until April 14th while we assess the damage at the office from the storm, and let June rest and recover.

This once in a generation storm has certainly made a mess out of everyone here in Northern Michigan. And with yesterday's storm devastating the southern half of the state, we all seem to be in a state of chaos.

We are hoping everyone is staying safe and wishing everyone well. 🙏

Update for WEDNESDAY April 2nd:

Power won't be coming back as planned. We had heard from local law enforcement that we most likely won't see power restored until the end of the week. 😭

There is also another winter storm coming through tomorrow morning with more snow, freezing rain, and winds as high as 40mph. Officials are urging everyone to hunker down until the system passes and don't travel unless absolutely necessary.

In the meantime, the office is still closed with no way of calling out to contact anyone on our schedule (except here on Facebook). 😢 We deeply apologize for this.

Please stay home and stay safe! 🙏

We reiterate that we will call everyone on the schedule as soon as power and phone lines are restored.

Hello everyone,

Due to the ice storms, the office is currently without power or phone lines (people can call in, but we can't call out). We are not exactly sure when we will be restored, but there is an estimated time of restoration for April 1st at 9:00pm.

As of this status, the estimated report of people without power are:
Great Lakes Energy - over 45,000
Consumers Energy - close to 3,900

We wish everyone safety, and please don't drive if your area is not safe!

In the meantime, the office is closed until further notice. We apologize to anyone on our schedule for today (and possibly tomorrow if power is not restored sooner). Once we are back to fully operational, we will call everyone back to reschedule.

Another note to pass along:
If you know anyone who might be without power and cannot get to a warming center, they can call 911 and your local police department will have someone pick them up and take them there. No one has to struggle in the cold!

Greetings everyone,

An update on Bridget:

While the retinal bleeding has finally been resolved, Bridget’s vision is continuing to worsen. The optic nerves have now started showing signs of deteriorating, creating the vision loss and, unfortunately, pain that is making life (and sleep) still more difficult.

The optic nerve is subject to the blood-brain barrier, a mechanism that keeps harmful substances from reaching the brain and cranial nerves. Unfortunately, this same mechanism also prevents helpful medications and nutrients from reaching the optic nerve. The physicians locally are at a loss as to why this is happening, so she has been referred to another specialist at University of Illinois and has an appointment on April 9th. She is also being referred to a neurological ophthalmologist at Henry Ford on April 29th.

Everyone who has sent us contributions, prayers, and well wishes have been loved and appreciated by all of us throughout this difficult event.💜

Greetings everyone,

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard that Bridget hasn't been in the office for the last 5 months due to complications with her eyes. She tried her best to be a consultant for the occasional case-by-case situation, but her ability to actually return to the office and working is not looking possible for the foreseeable future.

Not having Bridget fully at the office has (to say the least) been difficult. Dale and June are the only ones running the office, and with the mountain of phone calls and other responsibilities around the office, the ability to make reminder calls and answer emails and FB messages doesn't always work out well. Only having June seeing clients full time has kept the lights on, but its impaired our ability to keep up with ordering supplements due to finances. We are doing our best, and we appreciate everyone's patience in replies and restocks for their much-needed items.

Upon hearing everything that has been happening, a former student (and friend) put together a GiveSendGo and shared Bridget's story to help us out (which we are super appreciative of!!). She asked us to share the link with our clients, so I am posting it here if anyone was wishing to help.

Big thank you to Julie Williams for putting this together, and thank you everyone for sending us prayers and well wishes! We hope to have Bridget fully back to the office someday soon. ❤️‍🩹

♦️ ATTENTION!

As most of you know, we normally take the week of the 4th of July as our chance to take a "Mini Summer Break". However, this year, we are taking this break a week early!

The office will be closed starting Friday June 21st, and we will be gone until Sunday June 30th. We will be back on Monday July 1st.

So this is our "heads up": If you are needing supplements or to make an appointment before we are gone for a week, you have until 5pm Thursday (June 20th) to call the front desk or come in to get those taken care of!🙂

➕ALSO:

Due to 4th of July falling on a Thursday this year, we have also made the decision to open up the Friday after (July 5th)

So our Independence Day week hours will be as follows:

Monday (July 1st): 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Tuesday (July 2nd): 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Wednesday (July 3rd): CLOSED (due to prior personal
commitments outside of the office)
