Transitional Living is a supportive, sober-living environment that serves as a stepping stone towards ongoing recovery. It is not intended as a long-term living arrangement but rather as a place to apply the recovery tools learned during treatment, such as responsibility, money management, attending support groups, and working together to maintain a clean and sober environment. A live-in supervisor manages the facility, and a new learning topic is introduced each week to support recovery.

To ensure program compliance, the Transitional Living Case Management Team screens potential residents and monitors their adherence to program expectations. These expectations include attending regular 12 Step meetings, obtaining a sponsor, weekly group therapy, and weekly Continuing Care meetings.

The Transitional Living Facility at Harbor Hall acknowledges that not all individuals are prepared to transition to independent living immediately after completing treatment for substance abuse. Some clients may recognize the potential risks of returning to their communities too soon, which could compromise their early recovery and result in relapse. We offer a low-cost, supportive living environment to address this concern to ease transition challenges.

A testimonial from one of our Alumni.

Collin T.

β€œI was 24 years old when I received my second DUI. I entered a program called sobriety court, which included outpatient counseling at Harbor Hall.

My experience with Harbor Hall has been nothing but beneficial to my recovery. I was terrified to start this journey. I walked into the first group session late, but I immediately felt welcomed by everyone in that room. Multiple meetings followed that initial session, with Randy as well as some of the other counselors. The whole staff welcomed me, which was beneficial in early recovery.

Harbor Hall helped facilitate my recovery and I feel like I owe them more than I could ever repay. Their kindness and concern for everyone who walks through those doors is unequaled.

As of this writing, I’ve been clean and sober for 15 months and 6 days, far longer than I had ever thought possible. Recovery has changed my life. Change can be terrifying. Thanks to the people I met at Harbor Hall and the friends I’ve made in sobriety court, I embrace that change and look forward to the future.”

Gifts from generous donors provide critical financial support for clients struggling with addiction to alcohol and other drugs. You can offer hope and healing by making a donation to the Harbor Hall Foundation. https://bit.ly/3nakgU4
