At the request of current and past patients, Dr. Joelyn Cunningham and Chelsey Lloyd, PTA, recently gave a presentation at a meeting of the Amherst Woman’s Club. More than 40 people attended the event. Jo and Chelsey discussed the importance of strength and balance exercises, asked a few trivia questions on the topic, and then had the group participate in a few functional tests.

As Jo says, “We’re happy to get out into the community and help educate on the importance of aging gracefully. As we age, it’s so important to focus on strength and balance.”

If you’d like to see Jo or Chelsey in the clinic, please give us a call today at 855-722-8478.

In honor of the Master this weekend, here is our Motivational Monday quote!
“The most important shot in golf is the next one.” — Ben Hogan

In physical therapy, it’s the same mindset.

It’s not about the setback yesterday or the pain you felt this morning—it’s about the next rep, the next step, the next effort.

Progress isn’t built in big moments… it’s built in the small ones you choose to show up for.

Focus on your next move. That’s where healing happens. 💪

Physical therapists never stop learning! Plus, our patients deserve the best, so we want to get better every day! At a recent continuing education course, our physical therapists and physical therapy assistants learned to think outside the box of “three sets of 10”. Taught by Dr. Kyle Feldman, PT, DPT, at We Are Physiotherapy, the course challenged attendees to integrate unique strength and conditioning principles into physical therapy prescriptions. Our staff learned fresh ways to refine lifting techniques, explore exercise progressions and regressions, and apply evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes.

“Better care for our patients – that’s always the goal,” says Dr. Josh Bailey, president and CEO. “Continuing education helps us sharpen our skills and stay up to date on the latest techniques.”

For evidence-based physical therapy, please give us a call today at 855-722-8478.

Our own Dr. Brian Britt was honored recently to speak at the University of Lynchburg’s White Coat Ceremony for Doctor of Physical Therapy students. This significant ceremony is the bridge between classroom learning and clinicals.

During his address, Dr. Britt encouraged the students and discussed the meaning of the important ceremony. “Physical therapy is a profession grounded in movement and trust,” he told the students. “Trust is earned. Our white coats represent that trust.” He went on to talk about physical therapists as movement experts and lifelong learners. He also touched on physical therapy as an evidence-based practice and encouraged the DPT students to be advocates for the profession.

Interesting to note, when Dr. Britt received his own white coat at a ceremony at the University of Lynchburg in 2015, Rehab Associate’s Dr. Josh Bailey, president and CEO, was the keynote speaker! As Dr. Bailey says, “We love hiring students from the University of Lynchburg! Brian has stepped up as a clinician, earned the positions of site director and junior partner, and is serving APTA as an advocacy chair. He deserves this honor!”

Congratulations to the DPT students as they begin their clinicals and congratulations to Dr. Britt on a meaningful keynote address!

Progress doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from consistency.

Every appointment you keep, every exercise you complete, every small step forward… it all adds up. Some days will feel harder than others, but showing up is where the real change begins.

In physical therapy, your commitment is your superpower. Keep showing up—for your health, your strength, and your future.

đź’Ş One session at a time. One win at a time.
