LETS TALK ACNE 🎤
Did you know there’s more than one type of acne?!?!

1. Blackheads (open comedones)- small black dots caused by a clogged follicle.
(The dark color is due to oxidation not dirt.)
2. Whiteheads (closed comedones) - similar to blackheads but covered by a thin layer of skin making them appear small, flesh-colored bumps.
3. Pustules - red and inflamed bumps caused by bacteria, oil and dead skin cells; filled with pus, making them appear red with a white or yellow center.
4. Papules - red and inflamed bumps caused by bacteria, oil and dead skin cells clogging the pores, but do not contain pus.
5. Cystic acne - the most severe form of acne. Large, painful pus filled cyst that developed beneath the skin. They’re soft to the touch but are highly painful and tender. They appear to be red and swollen and can have a white or yellow head.
6. Nodules - Large painful lumps that develop deep within the skin, hard and firm to the touch, often painful and tender. Unlike pustules, nodules are solid and do not contain pus.
