We would like to congratulate Ms. Mabel Coker on finishing our Rehab to Home program here at the Harlan Health and Rehab Center. Ms. Coker is 96 years young who recently had a fall at home resulting in a hip fracture requiring surgical intervention. Ms. Coker was unable to return home and was transferred here for Rehab to increase her level of independence and mobility skills.
Through hard work and determination, Ms. Coker worked with our Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy department. She increased her activities of daily living to independent/ set up assist and her functional mobility to modified independence.
She has been such a delight, and she let her love for the Lord shine through praising his name with every accomplishment. We will miss Ms. Mabel dearly but we are so happy she has got to go home!

Trick or Treat, give me something good to eat! If you will, we will share. Thank you, Rose, from our local Rax, for your love and care! To end our Halloween Spooktacular Week, residents and staff were treated to Rax roast beef meals. We also had special visitors from the Challenge Academy that gave each resident a beautiful Halloween card and joined in on our party extravaganza.

Who are we?

Harlan Health & rehabilitation Center is a 143-bed skilled nursing facility nestled in the beautiful mountains of Harlan County.

We provide both long term and short term care and have an outstanding therapeutic rehabilitation program with staff dedicated to helping residents reach their highest potential. Many of our residents are able to return home after an illness or accident with just a few short weeks of rehabilitation. Our Activities staff is always working to keep residents active with many fun-filled activities. Some activities include arts & crafts, cooking, movies, bingo, bowling, karaoke, dancing, cook-outs and ice cream socials to name a few. We also have various performers, groups and local talent who provide entertainment for our residents and staff. Our goal is to provide the best care possible for our residents while making them feel at home. We not only believe in quality care, we believe in a quality life.
