My main vocation is as a licensed mental health counselor, but my journey with yoga actually overlaps beautifully with my passion for mental health. I started my own yoga practice as part of my recovery from postpartum depression when my oldest (now 14!) was born, and it has been a beautiful and nourishing part of my life ever since. I started teaching with Still Water Yoga Studio back in 2019 to
cover a regular instructor's maternity leave, after training as a Level 1 YogaFIt instructor. I got hooked, and after she came back from leave, I stayed! I kept teaching with the studio until it closed. Since then, I have known that I would return to teaching but was waiting on God to say when. I am in the middle of two major training series- my 200 hour full base course plus a trauma-informed yoga certification. As I have been immersed in these amazing trainings, I felt the tug that it was time to start offering a public class again. My heart for yoga is the same as my heart as a therapist, to create a place where we can be safe, be in connected, and can heal. Welcome. Katie Sandquist
