🎃 That moment when you’re staring at the GIANT wall of Halloween candy at the store
 trying to figure out how to keep the trick-or-treaters happy without bringing home a stash you’ll end up raiding yourself. đŸ€Š

For me, I’d either:

→ Not buy any candy at all because I didn’t trust myself around it.
→ Or buy a huge bag and eat half of it before Halloween.

That’s what all-or-nothing thinking looks like.

It’s not about the candy. It’s what the little voice in our head tells us.

→ I don’t have any willpower.
→ I can’t trust myself around Snickers Bars.
→ I give up! Next year, no more Halloween for me.

I know this for sure. Your relationship with food gets easier the second you stop assigning morality to it.

Nowadays, I can enjoy a few pieces of candy and move on


Except candy corn! Those shouldn’t even exist in the first place. 😜

I used to shake my head at the word calm. I mean seriously, who had time for that?

I had work to do, laundry to flip, a gas tank to fill, clients to train, meals to prep


You know exactly what I’m talking about, right?

I thought

→ I’m not here to relax, I’m here to be productive.
→ I don’t have time to journal and breathe and sit in silence.
→ I’ll rest when I’m on vacation.

But now I know calm also means I don’t snap at my partner when I’m overwhelmed.

It means I can focus and finish what I started.

It means I don’t need a nap at 3 p.m. and then try to crank up my energy again with caffeine.

Being calm doesn’t mean you’re living in a zen-like state ALL the time


It means having the [benefit – ex. "mental reserves (aka bandwidth) for the things that actually matter"].

And once I started caring about that
 everything changed.

Mindy knew she “should” get back into a routine.

She “should” work out more
 “should” eat better
 “should” do all the things.

But she just wasn’t feeling it.

Everything felt like an obligation, not to mention a LOT of work.

Definitely not something to get excited about.

But she decided to give it ONE more try.

And when we started working together, we focused less on what she “should” do, and more on what she "wanted to feel":

✅ More energy
✅ Stronger
✅ Good about her body

And surprise: it didn’t just work. It felt great!

Now she’s feeling fit, strong, and planning to go on a big shopping trip for new clothes that fit her!.

Think about the first law of thermodynamics:
⚡ Energy doesn’t disappear. It gets TRANSFERRED.
When you’re stressed, that energy doesn’t vanish either.

It sits in your body, and it feels like:
→ Tight shoulders
→ Clenched jaw
→ Racing thoughts

And the kicker is that same stuck energy is often why

❌ Your workouts feel flat
❌ You can’t focus
❌ Your body holds onto extra weight

More willpower isn’t the solution.

It’s giving that energy somewhere to go.
✅ Brisk walk
✅ Strength training session
✅ Stretching

Movement helps discharge stress, calm your system, and even activate your nervous system so you feel more like ‘you’ again.

Your results don’t just come from what you eat or how you train.

Your resilience – a.k.a. your ability to release stress and walk it off also plays a huge role.

You’ve heard me say it before
 but you do know that rest and recovery is part of the process, right?

Well
 what’s your ideal rest day look like?

Here’s mine 👇

→ Waking up with a cup of coffee and a notebook
→ No alarms
→ A walk outside without my phone
→ Comfy clothes all day
→ A meal I didn’t rush through
→ No schedule
→ No productivity guilt
→ Just being

Why is this such a big deal?

Rest isn’t something you “earn” after a productive week...

It’s actually the thing that fills you back up, so that you can show up better the rest of the time.
