Hello. It's time. For a very hard conversation, one I have been avoiding and pushing aside, to my own health detriment, since €0\|!D-9t33n.
I have prided myself, to a fault, on being able to keep my prices as they were pre-€0\|!D..
We are at a point in our economy where I can no longer do that...
Five years of struggling financially as a business with a solo set of hands has led me to health issues and a decision that, more than likely, will not be good news to you.
My prices for service will be increasing 3/1/25.
New rates are as follows:
In-home service $60 for the hour.
In Studio rates are:
30 min $50
60 min $85
90 min $120
There are no discounts that will be honored after 3/1/25...
I know that hard times have fallen on everyone. I don't take this decision lightly. I completely understand if you have to step away, find another outlet of service, or work out an every other month plan. I do hope that our lines of communication remain open and that you can talk to me if needed.

June marks 19yrs of service-based work in the Bodywork industry.
I'm sitting at grateful for quite a few things...
•One, that I've been Blessed with Health to be able to continue this kind of physically demanding work for as long as I have.
•Two, that it appears that I haven't gone out of style.... 🤣... my client base is as kick-ass as it comes. The support and kindness that you have given me is beyond ridiculous... I'm humbled.
•Three, time is fleeting. There is never enough of it...
•Four, change is our only constant.
So, bc time is fleeting, this year, of all the years so far... I will be very, very limited on studio time.
On May 17th, Naenah left our home as a Jr in High school and came back that afternoon as a SENIOR.
AS much I was would love for time to stand still... or find a time machine... or find a way to turn back time and pause it...
Naenah's Senior year is upon us...
Our last full summer with her is THIS summer.. so it begins...
If you all thought that getting into my open spots last year was a mess... well, this year will be even worse.
For that you have my mild apologies.
I have set aside, or rather put in FRONT of me, my family's last year together in our High School era. I'm desperate for more time. That time has to be taken from somewhere and it will taken from my Bodywork books.
If you are not currently in my books from the past three months... open availability will be limited...
I have NO open spots the rest of June OR July OR August
SEPTEMBER is when I will know my availability for the Fall...
Change. Again our only constant on the measurement of our lives.
It's not the best news for everyone but I'm hoping you understand.

In June of 2023, I started my 17th year of bodywork.
This last week of the year, for the last several years, I dedicate the majority of spots to Alumni home on break. Or home on Holiday Visit..
Its probably one of my most favorite "work weeks" of the year.
I get to catch up with young people whom I have had the honor to care for through out their Jr High/High School careers.
I get to reflect on the babies they were, the stages I have been honored to see them through and celebrate with them at the points in Life they are now.
Its no lie that if you ask them, they will tell you that the advice they impart to me to tell Naenah, I do indeed run home and have to best of convos with the kid about..
I really couldn't ask for a better way to end 2023 professionally.
Its the coolest thing to see their change, tell them how proud I am of them on how they handle that change, and let them know that I'll always be in their corner.
Their advice to our family and Naenah is priceless. I'm always left humbled and grateful.
Thank you for your patronage this year. Every single one of you. This small business was just supposed to get us through Nae's elementary school yrs... then, I promised Trav I'd get a "real" job again.
I'm not gonna lie, 17yrs in bodywork and I'm feeling it. There is always change on the horizon...
I'm learning to adjust accordingly, to actively try to keep happy and healthy to keep doing this very physically demanding but also so-rewarding work.
Thanks for adjusting with me, for understanding and for caring.

Here we are, the day before Thanks. We all have quite a bit on our plates. I’m fairly certain that there isn’t one with more or less to do during these very busy Holiday months.
I had an interaction with a potential client the last few days that has me really second guessing everything. And it's taken a toll on my mental health. I would be naive to not be honest with myself and you, my clients if I didn’t admit that I too have bad days.
While this is the season for Joy, I try to find as much of it as possible now and all year long. It is also the season for burnout in Service-based Industry Persons. While you are struggling with your everyday stresses and realize that a massage is just what you need... We in the Industry are struggling with your same stresses plus those who believe they can call last minute and get in.
I call it the Season of Pushback. Because there is always one or two or a dozen that think this behavior is okay.
And, it's not.
It just isn’t.
In an area where there are only one or two of us as massage therapists in a population of 3k-4k... we are overworked, booked and tired.
Nowadays, these incidents are few and far between. But when they do happen, it seems to be the worst case scenario. I get made out to be the most awful of bad guys. That I just won't take a little bit of time out for them.
How could I come so highly recommended by everyone and then treat them so curtly and unkind.
I’ve heard it all
Even being accused of stealing money.
You would think that in 16 yrs time I would have grown some thicker skin.
Nope.
Bodywork requires a soft heart. A mind that understands, one that passes the least amount of judgment as possible.
I can only imagine what is being said about me and mine today. In a small town, I’m sure you’ll hear all about it by the end of the week.
So here is the part you won't hear. Here is what they won't tell you about the situation...
That I have a Life also
That you have to give me time, and then a little more, and then you probably have to remind me again.... And maybe again... What’s funny about this one is MOST of my clients know they have to remind me... and I'm SO grateful they are forgiving.
That as much as I do Love my Therapy career, I Love my Daughter, Husband and Family more and they will always, always come first.
That if I haven’t gotten back to you there is a damn good reason why and NO, it's not because I’m ignoring you!
That your approach matters. How you start with me is how we end.

So, I’m asking you to do me a favor this Holiday Season. Please remember these words before you blow up on your Therapist, Stylist, Esthetician and so on.
And if you really want to know the whole story, I’m around.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Ours is pretty special this year. If you know, you know! Thanks for all your support. And putting up with my really unpredictable schedule. And Loving me and mine with all our flaws. And rooting for Us and sticking with us even when the chips are down and the rumors are flying!!!
