We’re excited to share our 2026 Vision Resources Sponsorship Program booklet!

This annual sponsorship opportunity supports all three of our 2026 signature events, providing partners with meaningful visibility throughout the year while directly advancing services for individuals with visual impairments across Central Pennsylvania. We are so grateful to ABC 27’s Good Day PA for welcoming Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania to share our exciting news.

After 25 years as Visions of Monte Carlo, our signature spring fundraiser is entering a new chapter. The newly reimagined Passport Gala will take guests on a journey around the world, beginning with our first destination… Italy on April 23, 2026. We wouldn't be able to do this without our amazing host this year Visaggio's Restaurant, Catering and Events

CEO Cheryl Cuddy joined Good Day PA to share why this evolution matters. This event is not just about a new theme. It is about creating immersive experiences that bring our community together in support of individuals who are blind or visually impaired across Central Pennsylvania. With 89 cents of every dollar raised going directly to services, the impact extends far beyond one evening.

Common Causes of Low Vision

Low vision can be caused by a variety of conditions, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and other age-related or neurological changes.

Understanding the causes helps individuals and families seek early care, adapt with confidence, and access the right resources.

Awareness is a powerful first step.

February is Low Vision Awareness Month.

Low vision is a visual impairment that cannot be fully corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery—but it does not mean blindness. Millions of people live with low vision and continue to work, learn, and live independently with the right tools and support.

This month, we’re sharing information, resources, and encouragement to help bring awareness to low vision and the many paths to independence.

LCIF: How Helen Keller Inspired a Global Movement to End Preventable Blindness

In 1925, Helen Keller issued a challenge to Lions Clubs International: become Knights of the Blind in the crusade against preventable blindness. Service can take many forms.

This past year, because of our community’s support, Vision Resources:

✔ Served 523 individuals through programs and services
✔ Provided 2,669 vision screenings for preschool children
✔ Delivered 293.75 hours of access technology training
✔ Created 30,807 pages of Braille transcription

Each number represents a person, a family, or a child whose path forward became clearer.

Dr. King’s words remind us that service is not measured by recognition, but by impact. At Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania, answering this call means advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and independence for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Every program, every resource, and every connection we provide is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live fully and independently. On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on how service to others strengthens our community and moves us closer to a more inclusive world.

Glaucoma-related vision loss is often preventable when caught early.

We encourage everyone to schedule regular eye exams, even if no vision problems are noticeable. A simple appointment can make a lifelong difference.

Please consider sharing this information with family members, friends, and loved ones—especially those who may be at higher risk.
