Did you know that extra weight can also affect your hands and wrists? 🖐️

A recent study found that people with a higher body mass index (BMI over 30) were typically diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger about 6 years earlier than those with a healthy BMI.

Other things that sped up the onset of these conditions included smoking and type 1 diabetes.

This suggests inflammation and metabolic stress may manifest as pain, numbness, or hand stiffness earlier than expected.

The good news is that taking steps to manage weight and improve movement can reduce stress on your hands and wrists. 👍

So weather you are an athlete with a new injury, a expecting mother, or someone who has been suffering for years, we want to help you and teach you how to better manage your condition. Dr. Derek Klatt has over 5 years experience treating day old infants to those with multiple lower back surgeries and everything in between.
