As someone who has been a healthcare professional both clinical and corporate for 19 years, many of you know my why: I lost my father to sudden cardiac arrest when I was just 14 years old. I tried to help, but I had no CPR training at the time. Years later, I recognized the warning signs in my uncle and got him to the hospital just in time before he went into cardiac arrest. Those two moments changed my life.

But did you know that sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the U.S.?

Every minute counts. Using an AED within the first 4 minutes can increase survival rates up to 70%?

If you or someone you know needs screenings, vaccinations, or help connecting to a primary care provider — no appointment or insurance is needed. Just stop by the Weis Market in Newport the first Tuesday of every month, 9 AM–2 PM.

We’re committed to removing barriers to care and supporting the health of our communities — every mile, every patient, every time.

🚨 EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT 🚨
📍 Central Pennsylvania | 🕚 Sunday, June 22 @ 11:00 AM – Wednesday, June 25 @ 8:00 PM

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for our area. Heat index values may exceed 105°F, especially on Monday and Tuesday. This level of heat is dangerous and can quickly lead to life-threatening conditions.

🔥 Prevention is the Best Medicine 🔥
Be on the lookout for signs of heat-related illnesses:

🔺 Heat Exhaustion:
• Heavy sweating
• Weakness or dizziness
• Nausea or vomiting
• Cool, clammy skin

🚑 Heat Stroke (EMERGENCY):
• No sweating
• Hot, dry skin
• Confusion or unconsciousness
• Seizures

🧊 Stay Cool, Stay Safe:
✅ Drink plenty of water — even if you’re not thirsty
✅ Stay in air-conditioned places or use fans
✅ Limit outdoor activity and take breaks in the shade
✅ Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Never leave children or pets in vehicles

👶👵 At-Risk Populations:
The young, elderly, and those with chronic illnesses are more vulnerable. Check in on loved ones and ensure they have access to cool environments.

🆘 Don’t Wait for It to Get Worse
