Home to Stay

Home to Stay "Healing at Home" 🤗❤️ We staff well-trained and dedicated nurses and aides to provide the best care possible for your loved ones. We help with healing at home.

Delivering skilled care to clients in the presence of their homes, Home to Stay is a home health care agency serving children and elderly patients in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties. Nurses are trained to assist with such needs as ventilator dependence or tracheostomy care. Aides are trained for day-to-day living assistance. Our services are provi

ded for 3-24 hours per day and up to 7 days per week, depending on a client's needs. Locally owned and operated, we know our clients and their families personally. We serve them with the same skill and compassion we would extend to our own family.

Spring can bring pollen, congestion, and pressure shifts. In children, this may show up as frustration or agitation. A pediatric conversation can provide clarity and comfort.

Seasonal changes can affect children in ways that are not always easy to recognize.

We often see increases in agitation, mood changes, and even seizures during heavy pollen seasons or pressure shifts. A child may seem unusually frustrated or uncomfortable, but there may not be visible symptoms like a fever or rash.

If your child’s behavior changes suddenly and you cannot pinpoint why, it is absolutely appropriate to call your pediatrician and discuss seasonal allergies. Children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.

Trust your instincts. Asking questions is part of caring well.

During one of the recent storms, a nurse we know was mandated to stay overnight at the hospital. She slept there because she could not leave. That kind of commitment deserves respect.

We truly honor facility nurses who step up in those moments. Their dedication is extraordinary.

At the same time, not every nurse thrives in that environment. And that is okay.

In home care, flexibility looks different. When families cancel during severe weather, our caregivers are often able to stay home safely with their own families.

Healthcare has room for everyone. If you are looking for meaningful work with flexibility, we would love to talk.

Every healthcare professional brings unique strengths. Home care provides meaningful one on one support for those seeking flexibility and connection.

One of the benefits of home care is flexibility.

When severe weather keeps families home from work, they may cancel care for that day. In those situations, our caregivers can remain safely at home with their own families instead of being required to stay overnight at a facility.

We deeply respect the healthcare professionals who serve in hospitals and facilities during storms. At the same time, we recognize that not every nurse or aide thrives in that setting. Home care provides another option — one built on flexibility, supportive leadership, and compassionate families.

Healthcare has room for every kind of caregiver. If balance matters to you, we would love to talk.

We encourage families to prepare before severe weather arrives. Contact your power company to register medical needs in advance. Know that local fire stations often maintain power during outages. Preparation replaces panic with clarity.

03/13/2026

When a home loses power and a child or aging parent depends on medical equipment, every minute matters.

We always recommend calling your power company on a bright sunny day to register medical needs for priority restoration. Do not wait until the power is already out. Make your home a priority today.

If an outage does happen, fire stations are often staffed during storms and have electricity available. They can provide a safe place to charge medical equipment without needing to go to the hospital unless it is absolutely necessary.

Preparation reduces panic. A simple phone call now can make all the difference later.

After the recent storms and cold temperatures, we encourage families to review emergency essentials. Keep water stocked. Confirm distilled water for medical equipment. Ensure feeding supplies are available. Replace flashlight batteries. Keep vehicles fueled. Preparing while conditions are calm helps reduce panic during an outage.
