We celebrated Dr. Bloom's last day of seeing patients earlier this fall. ICYMI, here's the letter she wrote for all of you.
Dear Patients:
Almost thirty years ago, Dr. Williams and I purchased Weber Vision Care, which by then had been operating in our area for over a century. Since taking over from Dr. Frank Weber, we have attempted to maintain and build that legacy, striving to provide cutting edge technology with old-fashioned patient care.
It’s been my honor and pleasure to provide eyecare to thousands of our patients during my almost 35 years here. Each day, I loved coming in (especially to our current office space, which we’re still very proud of) and working with our amazing team of eyecare professionals, including Dr. Darcy Williams and Dr. Logan O’Neal. Without them, we would not have remarkably loyal patients like you, nor would we have the amazing feedback we get, both in online reviews and in person. Better still, I have cherished the opportunity to get to know so many of my patients and their families. So often, it felt as if I was catching up with an old friend instead of performing an eye examination! One of our points of pride here at Weber Vision Care is based on treating our patients for their entire lives and treating two and sometimes even more generations from the same family.
We are taught that “there is a time to every purpose under the heaven” and so the time has come for me to retire. This is bittersweet because I will miss my Weber Vision Care family of colleagues and patients. But I am very excited to spend more time with my family (especially our grandson, Everett) and friends at our farm in West Virginia.
What does this mean for you? I am honored in your trust in me as your eyecare provider. I am confident that the Weber Vision Care team will continue to provide the same high-quality care as always. Weber Vision Care has evolved since the 1890s in order to remain at the forefront of the profession. Drs. Williams and O’Neal helped to foster, and fully intend to carry on, our practice’s tradition of personalized, state-of-the-art eye care. You’ll still see the same experienced staff you’ve come to know and trust, at the same location, offering the same hours and services. The Weber Vision Care team is here to support you and answer any questions you may have, and I hope that you will continue to allow them to serve your vision care needs.
It has been an extraordinary privilege to provide your vision care. I wish you all continued health and happiness in the years to come. If you ever find yourself in West Virginia, don’t be surprised if you spot someone who looks suspiciously like your old eye doctor chasing a goat down a country road. It just might be me enjoying retirement!
All the best,
Barbie Bloom
