Get enough sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.

What is Self-talk? -a verbal expression of an internal position or belief - it expresses inner feelings, non-verbal thoughts, and intuitions about a situation.

Is it Normal? - yes, normal at all ages and even beneficial in some circumstances

Is talking to yourself Healthy? - Self-talk may improve control over a task, concentration, and performance. It may also enhance problem-solving skills.

What is Positive Self-Talk? - Encourages and reinforces positive beliefs about a person.

Engaging in positive self-talk may decrease anxiety and improve concentration and focus. It is natural for a person to have an internal monologue while engaging with tasks and processing thoughts and emotions.

Meditation is about focusing the mind as a method of relaxation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, typical meditation: chanting, breathing, switching off the mind, mudras, going within, can be hard. And it can be done and is well worth the practice. Like a muscle it has to be built up over time to be implemented successfully into your lifestyle. A good place to start is just 2 minutes of sitting still with yourself and just breathe.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what if you just really can’t meditate? It’s just not for you!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If being still doesn’t work for you then don’t force it. You don’t have engage in the typical meditation to focus and relax the mind. There are other ways you can achieve the same result that will effortlessly suit your energy type.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your meditation may involve burning off energy, being around uplifting people, being with nature, cooking something delicious, reading a book, having a nap or movement such as dance or yoga.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If the typical meditation isn’t working for you then take the pressure off and try something else to refocus the mind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just be conscious and go with what suits you in that moment.
