In an effort to continue to best serve of our patients/families (and in conjunction with our colleagues at Partners in Women's Healthcare, P.C. transitioning their delivery location), we are happy to announce that we have now begun seeing newborns who will be patients of our practice at the Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center. If you are going to be delivering at Penn State Hampden, let them know that we are going to be your pediatrician and one of our providers will be by each morning of your hospitalization to check in on the baby.

We also continue to see babies delivered at UPMC Central Pa. Harrisburg Hospital as well and are actually the only private practice pediatric group in the area seeing newborn babies while in the hospital at each of these locations!

Please join us in welcoming Mattie Ross, PA-C as the newest provider at Tan and Garcia Pediatrics! You may have met Mattie already at the office over the past several weeks as she was completing her orientation period and she has now begun officially having patients scheduled as of today.

Mattie earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Pittsburgh after completing her undergraduate degree at Penn State University. Having grown up in the Harrisburg area, she is passionate about providing thoughtful and high-quality care to families in the community she calls home. We are very excited to have Mattie as a member of the Tan and Garcia family and are certain that she will be an excellent addition to our practice!

Last Friday, we held our annual staff appreciation dinner with this year’s event being specifically in honor of our amazing practice manager, Lori Dugan. Lori is retiring after over 45 years of incredible service to Tan and Garcia Pediatrics! It is impossible to even try to put into words what Lori has meant to our practice. She has truly been the lifeblood of the Tan and Garcia family in being the leader of our staff, a huge source of support to all of our providers, and a tremendous resource to the generations of patients and families that she has cared for through the years.

Tomorrow marks Lori’s final official day in the office of her illustrious career. We will all miss her presence greatly and wish her all the best in her next adventures! Please join us in passing along your love, gratitude, and well-earned congratulations below!

We had previously shared the following information about RSV immunizations for babies for the 2024-2025 season. This immunization is now officially available at both offices for babies under 8 months old... please read through and let us know if you would like to schedule!
Flu vaccines are also available for all ages 6 months and up as well as COVID vaccines for ages 6 months through 11 years.
