If your child answers “fine” when you ask about their day… you’re not doing anything wrong.

Sometimes kids don’t have the words yet to explain their experiences—or they’re just not sure where to start.

The way we ask matters more than we think.

Instead of one big question, try breaking it down:
✨ “What was the best part of your day?”
✨ “What was the hardest part?”
✨ “What are you proud of today?”

These small shifts can open the door to bigger conversations—and stronger connection.

You don’t need perfect parenting.
You just need moments like this 💛

💬 Which question do you think your child would answer first?

We just hit 4,000 followers, and I truly want to say thank you. 🤍

Whether you’ve liked a post, shared something with a friend, saved a tip for later, or simply paused to read—you’re part of this community. And that matters.

This space was created to make mental health feel more approachable, less intimidating, and a little more real. Not perfect. Not curated. Just honest conversations, practical tools, and reminders that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling.

The fact that 4,000 of you are here means there are 4,000 people who are open to growth, self-awareness, and doing the work—even on the hard days. That’s powerful.

If something you’ve seen here has helped you in any small way, that’s exactly why this page exists 🤍

And if you’re newer here—welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

✨ Here’s to continuing the conversation, breaking stigma, and supporting each other along the way.

🌱 Did you know gardening is actually therapy for your mind?

Spring is here ☀️ and it’s the perfect time to get outside and dig into something good for your mental health! 🧑‍🌾🌼

Gardening isn’t just about plants—it’s about you. Here’s how it helps:

💪 Move your body – Gentle physical activity boosts mood and energy.
😌 Reduce stress – Fresh air + nature = calmer mind and less anxiety.
🧘 Practice mindfulness – Slowing down helps you stay present and grounded.
🫂 Build connection – Garden with family or friends and grow together.
🧠 Stimulate your brain – Planning, problem-solving, and learning keep your mind sharp.

And remember… 🌿
Gardening is a process. It takes patience, trial and error, and a little grace with yourself. Not everything blooms right away—and that’s okay. 💛

✨ Growth takes time… for plants and people.

What’s your favorite part about gardening? 🤗

I’ve been on an açaís bowl kick recently. This bowl is not only delicious, it’s loaded with ingredients your body actually thanks you for. It tastes delicious and so refreshing.🤍

✨ What’s inside:Açaí • granola • strawberries 🍓• bananas 🍌• blueberries 🫐• chia seeds • flax seeds • honey 🍯

💪 Approx nutrition (varies by portion, but here’s a general idea):• Calories: ~450–550• Protein: ~8–12g• Fiber: ~10–15g (hello gut health 👏)• Healthy fats: ~10–15g (from chia & flax)• Natural sugars: ~30–40g (from fruit + honey)• Antioxidants: HIGH (açaí + berries = powerhouse)

This combo = energy boost, glowing skin, better digestion, and something that actually keeps you full. 🙌

Save this for healthy vegan food ideas. ✨

April is National Counseling Awareness Month 🗓️🤍

A time to recognize the impact of mental health counseling—and the dedicated counselors who show up every day to support, guide, and hold space for others.

Mental health matters in every season of life. One of the most meaningful ways to honor this month is by helping create a supportive, stigma-free environment for those around you. 🫂
✨ Check in on someone
✨ Learn about different types of counseling
✨ Explore resources available in your community

And if counseling has made a difference in your life—this is your reminder to say thank you to a therapist or counselor who has supported you. 🤗

At Neurofeedback & Counseling Center of PA, we’re honored to support individuals, couples, and families of all ages through counseling and neurofeedback—helping you build skills, find balance, and feel more like yourself again.

Let’s continue to normalize mental health care—not just this month, but every day of the year. ✨

After seeing Barbie, I can’t unsee this. 😂 This came on the radio with and I couldn’t help but giggle.
Now every time this song comes on, all I hear is Ryan Gosling dramatically singing it in the car like it’s a full emotional performance.

Just me? 🎤🚗

It’s easy to label behavior as “defiant” or “disrespectful”—especially in the moment.

But many times, what you’re actually seeing is a dysregulated nervous system.

When kids are dysregulated, they’re not thinking clearly.
They’re reacting.

And that’s why discipline alone doesn’t work in those moments.

Connection first.
Regulation next.
Skills after that.

Because here’s the missing piece a lot of people don’t talk about— some kids struggle to regulate even when they want to.

That’s where additional support can make a real difference.

Along with therapy and coping skills, approaches like neurofeedback can help train the brain to regulate more effectively—making it easier for kids to actually use the skills they’re learning in real time.

You’re not just managing behavior—
you’re supporting how their brain functions 🤍

If your child struggles with big emotions, you’re not alone—and support is here.

Sometimes it’s not the moment that’s overwhelming…
it’s everything leading up to it.

You’ve been giving, holding, managing, and showing up all day long.

So when something small pushes you over the edge—
it’s easy to think you’re overreacting.

But you’re not.

You’re overwhelmed.

Your nervous system is asking for a pause, not punishment.

The goal isn’t to never feel triggered.
The goal is to recognize when you need support, space, or a reset.

What helps you come back to yourself when you feel overwhelmed?
