🏥 It’s National Primary Care Week! 🩺

This week, we recognize the vital role primary care plays in advancing health for individuals, families, and communities. Primary care serves as the cornerstone of our healthcare system, improving access, promoting prevention, coordinating care, and fostering trusted, long-term relationships between patients and their physicians.

Family physicians are at the heart of this work, providing comprehensive, continuous care across all ages and stages of life.

Join us in celebrating the dedication of all primary care professionals who ensure healthier communities every day.

🍂💉 Flu season is here—have you gotten your flu shot yet?

The influenza vaccine is a safe, effective way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. As osteopathic family physicians, we know prevention is key to whole-person health. The flu shot reduces your risk of illness, hospitalization, and serious complications, especially for children, older adults, and those with chronic conditions.

Now is the perfect time to roll up your sleeve. Protect your health this season—get vaccinated today!

Health officials expect the upcoming 2025–26 flu season to be moderate compared to last year, but experts say everyone who is eligible should get vaccinated against influenza this fall.

🧡 National Falls Prevention Week 🧡

Every year, millions of older adults experience falls — making them one of the leading causes of injury, hospitalization, and even death. But here’s the good news: falls are not an inevitable part of aging. They’re preventable.

👉 Here are some steps we can all take:
✅ Stay active with exercises that improve balance, strength, and flexibility.
✅ Remove home hazards like loose rugs, cords, and poor lighting.
✅ Review medications, vision, and chronic conditions with your healthcare provider.
✅ Talk openly about falls — even “small stumbles” can be warning signs.

Falls are often under-reported, but awareness and prevention can save lives. Whether you’re an older adult, a caregiver, or a healthcare professional, you can make a difference this week.

🩸 September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Early detection and ongoing support are so important for patients facing leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Every 3 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer, reminding us why awareness, education, and advocacy matter.

This month, we stand with patients and families in the fight against blood cancers. Together, we can advance research, improve access to care, and bring hope to those impacted. ❤️
