Anatomy-first results > Temporary illusions 🕊️

As a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon, my focus is on structural rejuvenation that actually lasts. Here’s how I filter through the noise of 2026 beauty trends to focus on what’s clinically backed.

The Investments:
🏷️ Medical-grade SPF: The top tool in any surgeon’s kit for facial beauty.
🏷️ Retinol: The gold standard for collagen induction and texture.
🏷️ Silicone Gel: Essential for optimizing surgical scars.

The Skips:
🚫 Face Tape: A temporary pull that doesn’t address underlying laxity.
🚫 Jade Rollers: Relaxing, but they won’t fix structural anatomy.
🚫 Department store creams: You’re paying for a pretty jar, not meaningful results.

Ready for a refreshed look that doesn’t look “done”? Visit the link in my bio to book a consultation at my Westchester office.

Fraxel vs. Fractionated CO2 Laser⚡️

Patients often use these terms interchangeably, but the results are worlds apart. While Fraxel offers a gentle non-ablative approach, our practice prioritizes the Fractionated CO2 Laser for one reason: Power.

As an ablative treatment, Fractionated CO2 goes deeper to physically resurface the skin. It’s the gold standard for:
✨ Dramatic collagen remodeling
✨ Smoothing deep-set wrinkles
✨ Significant skin tightening

If you’re looking for a “one-and-done” transformation rather than multiple sessions, CO2 is the winner!🏆

Yes - I treat myself! 💁🏻‍♀️💥

As an oculoplastic surgeon, I prioritize evidence-based treatments. BBL phototherapy targets pigment irregularities, vascular changes, and early signs of photoaging while stimulating collagen remodeling at a cellular level.

Is it “hooded eyes,” or is your brow actually the culprit? 🤔

As an oculoplastic surgeon, I see patients every day who think they need an upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), when what they really need is a brow lift…or both!
The distinction is critical for a natural, refreshed result. If you just treat the lids when the brow is the issue, you can actually pull the brow lower, making you look more tired than before.

Try the “Manual Brow Lift” test:
1️⃣ Look in the mirror.
2️⃣ Place your palms on your forehead just above your eyebrows.
3️⃣ Gently lift up toward your hairline.
If that “hooding” on your lids disappears and your eyes look more open, you likely have brow ptosis.

Which one are you? Try the test and let me know your results in the comments! 👇✨

The Oculoplastic “Cheat Code”: 5-FU 👁️✨

If you’re struggling with a stye that won’t budge or a scar that’s feeling a bit too “thick,” let’s talk about the tool oculoplastic surgeons keep in their back pockets: 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU).

This game-changer is an antimetabolite that acts like a “reset button” for skin healing. Here is the high-yield breakdown:

• For Stubborn Styes (Chalazia): Sometimes a stye turns into a firm, rubbery bump that won’t drain. A tiny injection of 5-FU may help dissolve that chronic inflammation without the need for a scalpel.

• For Scar Management: Surgery is an art, but healing is biology. 5-FU prevents “over-active” scarring (hypertrophic scars) by stopping excess collagen from piling up. It keeps eyelid skin flat, smooth, and natural.

The Bottom Line: It’s high-yield, minimally invasive, and saves you from more aggressive procedures down the road. 💉

Blepharoplasty

02/15/2026

How soon can you work after blepharoplasty? 👁️💻

Technically: After local anesthesia (upper eyelids), you may resuming a non-physical, virtual role immediately.

Practically: Most patients take 7–14 days off from in-person work. Why? Swelling and bruising.

Note: Lower lids typically take longer to settle than uppers. Plan your Zoom schedule accordingly. 🗓️

The best referral you’ll ever get isn’t on a website. 🤫

When patients ask me how to truly vet a blepharoplasty surgeon, I tell them to look past the before-and-afters for a second. If you want the inside scoop on who has the best hands, ask an Anesthesiologist or your Primary Care Physician.

Here’s why:
1. Anesthesiologists are the ultimate fly-on-the-wall. They sit at the head of the bed for every case. They know exactly who is meticulous, who handles tissue with the most care, and who runs a safe, tight ship in the OR.

2. PCPs see the “after” that doesn’t make it to Instagram. They’re the ones seeing patients six months or two years later. They know which surgeons’ patients are consistently thrilled and which ones are dealing with complications.

Social media is a great portfolio, but a referral from the people who see the work in the trenches? That’s gold.

If a surgeon has to make you feel worse about yourself to sell you a procedure…that’s your biggest red flag. 🚩

A good consultation should feel empowering, educational, and honest (not shame-based!)

You deserve practitioners who respect your goals, your confidence, and your autonomy…not ones who create insecurity to make a sale.

Choose education over pressure. Choose a surgeon who protects your confidence, not profits from your doubts. 🤍
