So I just got back late last week from a bucket list trip to the Boy Scouts Ultimate High Adventure Base in Cimmaron, NM known as Philmont. I was one of 3 adults along with 9 boys (one being my son). We were on the trail for 10 days. Enjoy the pictures.

Had a great time last week in Nashville at the American Optometric Association annual conference. Learned many new things saw the latest in technology. Purchased some new equipment for the office to continually improve the care I provide.

The office will be closed Saturday May 25 and Monday May 27 for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with friends and family.

With the eclipse just over a month away I wanted to share with you the safest way to watch the eclipse and protect your eyes. Make a pinhole projector. It's easy and the attached link has all the directions. I've used this method and can attest to its effectiveness. In the last few years I have seen more patient with eyelash extensions than ever before. I have wondered what the effects of these have on the eye. Now a recent study showed what I have suspected; that they can cause tear film instability leading to dry eye.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to present the Realeyes program to students at Houston Elementary in the Northwest District. The students learned about the different parts of the eye, how to protect the eyes, and the importance of good vision for learning. Students and I had a great time. This program is made possible by donations received when you renew your automobile licenses and the clerk ask if you want to contribute to the "Save Our Sight Fund".
