DAR to Hold Genealogy Day and Bible Records Scanning in Clare
The event will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the Pere Marquette District Library in Clare.
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, the Michilimacinac Chapter, DAR in Clare, and the Central Michigan Chapter of MISSAR (SAR) are excited to present a Genealogy Day and Bible Records Scanning opportunity for anyone in interested in researching their family tree.
If you have a family bible published before 1926, DAR members would like to scan the family records such as birth, marriage and deaths. The scans will become part of the DAR national library collection through their Bible Records database and will then be available for public and DAR research. A copy of the scan/photo will be provided to the owner of the Bible if requested.
The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sons of the American Revolution are lineage societies documenting family lines back to participants opposing British rule in North American between 1775 and 1783.
If you believe you have an American Revolutionary Patriot in your family history, DAR and SAR members will assist you in researching that Patriot to determine if that Patriot has been identified. Appointments are requested for Patriot research by contacting midarregistrar@gmail.com.
