We are excited to announce that we are finally in a position to promote our new program, and it’s truly something special! This vision has been years in the making, initiated by NYS and brought to fruition through the collaboration, development, and implementation efforts of St. Vincent’s Hospital. program has been highly anticipated, and now that it’s open, it’s gaining momentum quickly.
The program’s administration was very intentional during the hiring process, prioritizing inclusivity and multicultural diversity for the ICR Paul Residence. They invested time in selecting the right team members and emphasized teambuilding activities to ensure a cohesive team that benefits all clients—or, as we call them, guests. I am honored to be one of the three Primary Mental Health Therapists within this program, providing intensive individual and group therapy.
About the Program:
The Intensive Crisis Residence (Paul Residence) is a groundbreaking initiative and the first of its kind in the New York metropolitan area. It is designed as an alternative to hospitalization for adults aged 18 and older experiencing psychiatric crises. This program is part of a long-term plan by New York State to expand access to critical mental health services on the St. Vincent’s campus.
The facility features 15 private rooms and both indoor and outdoor community spaces. Residents receive 24/7 support from a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, psychiatrists, and case managers. The ICR team provides stabilization through intensive daily interventions, counseling, and medication management.
The Paul Residence works in collaboration with St. Vincent’s mobile crisis response team and the 988 call center, further strengthening ties with the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health and the New York State Office of Mental Health. Together, these efforts aim to build a more responsive and effective mental health network, ensuring better support for those in need across our communities.
