Strength In Peers is collecting coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other cold-weather essentials along with toiletries and non-perishable foods to support folks in our community.

At our Community Resource Center in New Market, we provide no-cost, barrier-free support every Thursday from 9 AM – 4 PM (or by appointment 📞 540-217-0869).

Here's how we can help:

💻 Public computer lab for job searches & online applications
🧴 Emergency supplies: toiletries, blankets, socks, rain ponchos & more
🥫 Food pantry for those without access to refrigeration or cooking

🚐 Mobile resource support for those without transportation (call to schedule!)

Today is World Mental Health Day and it's a great time to share the news of the launch of the new Virginia HEALS website! The website acts as a comprehensive hub of tools, eLearning modules, and resources designed to strengthen trauma-informed, healing-centered work across the Commonwealth.

Virginia HEALS was created to support educators, service providers, advocates, and community leaders in recognizing trauma, responding thoughtfully, and building healing-centered spaces.

On the new site, you’ll find:
🧰 Practical tools to support trauma-informed care
🎓 eLearning modules and resources to build skills and knowledge
🤝 Guidance rooted in lived experience and best practices
