I love these beautiful intentions very much. This is the type of consciousness I’m choosing to allow in and cultivate into the days and weeks ahead.

As Krishnamurti so poignantly shares: “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

I couldn’t agree more. But living in a culture that so often dismisses, belittles, devalues, and oppresses women, children, and vulnerable equal members of society can be incredibly challenging to navigate.

So, how do we show up when dysfunctional systemic standards are widely accepted? When we don’t see enough living models of what constitutes being truly healthy, and not just getting by? To move from survival to genuine thriving?

I’m not saying that this path is easy by any means. Yet, I do believe it’s both possible and steeped in priceless value.

Here are several tips that I’ve found to be extraordinarily helpful on my personal healing journey. Through sharing, I hope they may also give you support on your own journey to thrive:

✨ Create your own positive culture of health.
🦋 Avoid taking health guidance from anyone who hasn’t overcome the topic they’re trying to influence you on, and is not engaged in doing their own inner work.
🤲🏽 Surround yourself with people who truly see, celebrate, and value you.
🌹 Listen to and honor the holistically intertwined needs of your body, mind, and soul.
💖 Trust your soul’s inner voice above noisy crowds.
🌈 Believe in your infinite transformative healing potential. Take meaningful steps to manifest this vision into reality.
📚 Take time to educate yourself. Apply critical thinking while making healthcare choices. Learn to discern trustworthy, quality research from poor, unreliable research.
💫 Run from any paradigm that doesn’t let you fully, authentically express yourself, and teaches you to buy into fear, hatred, and victimization.
💐 Trust the power, life force, and efficacy of natural medicine abundantly given from nature and the earth. There’s more than plenty for everyone.
🍒 Be yourself. The world needs you and your gifts just exactly as you are.

I’d love to hear from you with any reflections.

~In peace, love & gratitude,
Whitney

Immense gratitude to one of my amazing ladies for sharing these kind words in 2021~ 🌻🤎✨

“Whitney has helped me tremendously with an autoimmune disease for the past 4 years. I no longer have pain in my fingers and hands. Most recently she has helped treat my senior dog with flower essences. He was confused and anxious, etc...I was very concerned. I was amazed, and pleasantly surprised to see him respond to the flower essences the way he did. He is doing much better. Definitely worth giving it a try. Whitney has been an absolute blessing.”

Love you very much, dear heart!

I find it’s true that genuine healing takes incredible vulnerability. If we wait for the “perfect” time to start healing, that time may very well never come. Being a space holder for other beautiful souls to grow into higher expressions of their truth eludes words, really, that accurately suffice how I feel, although over the moon with a bursting, full heart may come a tad close. xo

“Following a random intuition, I joined a lovely creative writing workshop with an inspiring group of women artists. What a fantastically rejuvenating and unedited evening together, exploring writing as healing bodywork. 🪷

‘Things can be both immensely difficult and intensely beautiful at the same time. You don’t have to hide either side. Remember, the night sky is eerily desolate and also full of everything all at once.’
—Victoria Erickson
Author, Rhythms & Roads

The incredibly talented Victoria Erickson, Writer led the container for us to go deep into the heart of connecting pen and paper in flow state. Encouraging us to feel, come alive, focus our intentions, tap into inner ancestral wisdom and wash away stuck energy through the act of writing, magic unfolded. I appreciate her background working in holistic health for over a decade, bridging creative writing to be deeply healing. She also encouraged me to share more writing…🙏

Here is a raw, 5-minute piece to share from the prompt “she finally let go…” 🪷

She finally let go
The holding she’d been clinging to fell away
The tension, the years of building, the questioning
Finally released
Once and for all
You could see it in her eyes now
No looking back
Her light glistening with a wise woman glow
There was no mistaking this truth
Even though she used to dread this moment
Fear held her back
Terrified more might break and shatter, if anything else changed
Yet the medicine she needed was in the change itself
A healthy cleansing out
Bringing in more of what she needed
Now there was freed space to fill
Boundless potential
She no longer feared change
Relaxing into the power of new hopes and dreams
Beauty
Endless beauty
Breaks open
And she steps in

Xx,
~Whitney”

Embracing infinite emotions as an ally for flourishing health~ ♥️🌀✨

As an artist my entire life with mediums of expression as vast as the starry night sky, 🌌 I still experience moments of being astonished at how ✨🧘🏽‍♀️ DEEPLY I FEEL. 🧘🏻‍♀️✨That my body can hold 🌹🌊 SO MUCH. 🌊🌹

And instead of the temporary illusion of breaking under the tides, I actually end up somehow miraculously going through them, expanding and growing along the way…

After surviving unexpected challenging life curve balls, such as multiple near dear experiences, one aspect is exceptionally clear regarding fueling my strongest, purest, and uninhibited creative process: that numbing, avoiding, and repressing painful emotions is not conducive to living my most authentic life. I would never have had a chance to also feel deep joy, peace, and love again. These core aspects of a meaningful life, I know, are worth showing up for to genuinely feel and experience with everything in my soul.

So I surrender to embracing ALL of my emotions over and over again, nurturing outlets of healthy expression as a basic need…🌀

I promise, your emotions are truly, deeply, fervently not too much…by allowing their entire spectrum to flow freely, this is a pathway to live completely, exquisitely, and happily in alignment with your soul’s light.

All my love ♥️🦋✨

“Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.” ✨🦋 Rumi 🦋✨

Sharing this poignant quote that has centered me time and again throughout many stages of life in case anyone else needs a loving reminder like I did to give permission to yourself to dance any and all emotions. This is a safe way to nourish emotional health and complete the stress response cycle. No emotion is too much to hold for the Divine.

Much love ♥️🦋✨

If you’re struggling with winter blues, lethargy, depression, lack of motivation, excess kapha, seasonal affective disorder and/or other, one easy, lovely tool to apply for support during the winter months is to smell a lemon balm houseplant first thing in the morning. Literally immerse your face into the fresh leaves, close your eyes, inhale deeply, and stay there breathing as long as you need to until feeling a positive, uplifting shift.

Several of the clinical herbal action gifts of lemon balm or Melissa officinalis include:

🍃Antidepressant
✨Antimicrobial
🍃Antispasmodic
✨Anxiolytic (anti-anxiety)
🍃Diaphoretic
✨Digestive
🍃Hepatic
✨Nervine

Wishing each of you a healthy day overflowing with beauty and love!

What a fun impromptu birthday creation for a dear friend, who requested a healthy indulgent cake on her special day that also balanced several dietary intolerances and allergies for a group ladies gathering. We wanted to relax, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company without worrying about a loved one not being able to eat.

I really enjoyed the exploratory creative process, made with so much love! This is one of the hallmark aspects of mindfulness eating. ♥️

Even though I work professionally in nutrition, it doesn’t mean that I don’t eat cake or sacrifice enjoying tasty food. I believe that healthy food can taste delicious, and love to share tried and true recipes all the time.

Embracing food as medicine and a realistic part of your life that’s compatible with your unique mind-body constitutional type is achievable, beautiful, and sustainable. 🌼

I celebrate the multitude of ways food nourishes our minds, bodies, and souls. Food can be an embodiment of all the following beyond just a basic survival need:

* Medicine
* Art
* Joy
* Love
* Gratitude
* Community
* Dense organic nutrition
* Healing
* Six tastes
* Beauty
* Balance
* Vitality
* Five elements
* Prana (aka Qi or life force)
* Abundance
* Phytochemical diversity
* And much more 🌷
