Last Thursday our Harrisonburg team gathered for a mini goodbye party for Ms. Kelsey. We played games, shared stories, laughed a lot, and yes, there were a few tears too. While we are sad to see her go, we are so excited for her next adventure out west and everything ahead.

Thank you, Ms. Kelsey, for the care, connection, and heart you brought to our community. You will be missed more than you know.

So glad we could carve out time for learning and connection this week. A big shoutout to Caleigh, our AAC Coordinator, for bringing this inservice together, and to Claire from Tobii Dynavox for an engaging, thoughtful presentation that gave our team a lot to think about. Bonus points for showing up with Jimmy John’s and keeping everyone well fed. We’re grateful for partners who support our clinicians and make professional growth feel energizing and collaborative.

Did you know that February is National Snack Month? 🍎🥨

Snacks aren’t just filler between meals. For many children, they can be a low pressure way to explore food, build comfort, and support feeding development. In feeding therapy, snacks are often used intentionally to reduce stress, increase exposure, and support positive experiences around eating.

Meet Bre, our graduate SLP student joining us this semester at our Loudoun County office. She is a Speech-Language Pathology graduate student at James Madison University, graduating in May 2026, and will be working alongside SLP Sammie. Bre brings both personal and academic experience that fuels her passion for compassionate, neuro-affirming, family-centered care. We’re so glad to have her as part of our SLC community.
