Le 26 février 2019, dans sa demeure de Portal, en Arizona, est décédé Vince Black à l'âge de 68 ans.
Vince a vécu une vie exceptionnellement complète. Fier d'être avant tout un artiste martial, c’est par le biais de l’étude des arts martiaux qu’il a rencontré ses nombreux professeurs. C'est également à travers l'étude des arts martiaux que Vince a été initié à la médecine chinoise, domaine dans lequel il est devenu un praticien émérite.
Le dévouement de Vince envers ses professeurs et son travail acharné au service de la préservation des arts martiaux et médicaux traditionnels furent une source d'inspiration pour les innombrables personnes qui ont étudié à ses côtés. Il demeurera également présent à la mémoire des nombreux patients qui ont visité sa clinique et en sont repartis soulagés de leurs souffrances.
En 1990, aidé et soutenu par son épouse Kim, Vince fonde l'Association Nord-Américaine Tang Shou Tao, une organisation internationale vouée à la préservation des arts martiaux et médicaux traditionnels. Aujourd’hui, cette organisation basée à Tucson, en Arizona, compte des membres dans le monde entier qui poursuivront le travail de Vince. Le Centre de recherche gongfu est membre actif de cette association et partage au public du Québec les traitements et les arts martiaux, de la façon dont Vince l'aurait souhaité.
Une cérémonie commémorative aura lieu à Tucson, en Arizona le 30 mars prochain.

Vince Black passed away at his home in Portal Arizona on Tuesday February 26 2019 at the age of 68.
Vince lived an exceptionally full life. He was proud to first and foremost to call himself a martial artist and it was through the study of martial arts that he met his many teachers. It was also through the study of martial arts that Vince was introduced to Chinese medicine, in which field he became a gifted healer.
Vince’s dedication to his teachers and his endless hard work in the service of keeping traditional martial and medical arts alive has been an inspiration to the many who have been his students. He will also be remembered by the many people who came to his clinic as patients and went away relieved of their suffering.
In 1990 Vince, with the help and support of his wife Kim, founded the North American Tang Shou Tao Association, an international organization dedicated to the preservation of traditional martial arts and medicine. Today this organization, based in Tucson AZ, has members all over the world and will continue Vince’s work. The Montreal Gongfu Research Center is an active member of this association and disseminates its arts, both martial and medical, to the Quebec public in a way that respects Vince's teachings.
A memorial service will be held March 30, in Tucson, AZ.
