We spent an afternoon at the JMU TEAM Challenge Course. It was thrilling, fun, and challenging. It was hard but everyone took the leap together! We are grateful for our wonderful staff that works together and supports one another.

We had a long but worthwhile Sunday volunteering at the 47th Marine Corps Marathon! The marathon courses through Washington DC and ends in Arlington where we were. Thankfully it was perfect running weather, and the “casualties” were few.

COVID-19 TESTING CLINICS THIS WEEK

The Central Shenandoah Health District continues to offer free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinics each week throughout the district. Testing is available for individuals, regardless of vaccination status, who have symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Eligibility will occur onsite.

Monday, October 11 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Hillandale Park, Harrisonburg
Tuesday, October 12 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Augusta County Government Center
Thursday, October 14 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Hillandale Park, Harrisonburg
Friday, October 15 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Augusta County Government Center

PCR tests available. A health department employee will call with results once available. Individuals should isolate until they receive a negative test. Call the Staunton-Augusta Health Department for questions or assistance: (540) 332-7830.

National Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 24 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Have you ever wondered how to safely dispose of prescription drugs forgotten in your medicine cabinet that may be susceptible to diversion and abuse? Local law enforcement will be taking back unused prescriptions and other drugs  - they will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly and safe manner.  Take advantage of a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of drugs at these nearby collection sites:

It’s official! I’m excited to announce the partnership of Dr. James Lee. Please call on him for all issues pertaining to the foot and ankle. He is able to to provide comprehensive surgical care ranging from surgery on ankle fractures to bunions to hammertoes. Below is his Bio:

James E. Lee, Jr., D.P.M., is a graduate from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs CO with a BS in Biology and a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach FL with an MAS in Aeronautical Science. Following completion of his undergraduate studies, he served proudly for his country as a missile launch officer for 4 years and a fighter navigator for 15 years. Dr. Lee retired from the United States Air Force in 2013 to pursue his medical career.

He chose Podiatry as his second profession to continue to serve the community providing a variety of services to a diverse group of people. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland CA.

He completed a comprehensive three-year residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco CA. During that time he performed foot and ankle reconstructions, trauma surgery and diabetic limb salvage. During his final year he also served as chief resident.

When Dr. Lee isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes two dogs, and a cat as well as hiking, biking, camping, traveling, scuba diving and all things involving remote control planes and cars.
