We are thrilled to introduce the Founding Director of the Morrison Bruce Center, Dr. Judith A. Flohr. Dr. Flohr is a Professor Emerita of Kinesiology at James Madison University. She established the Center to honor Drs. L. Leotus Morrison and Patricia J. Bruce and to foster faculty and student engagement in teaching, research, and outreach that enhances physical activity and health knowledge among girls and women. During her tenure at JMU, Dr. Flohr directed the Human Performance Laboratory, coordinated the Exercise Science and Leadership Program, and taught exercise science courses. She has received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Teaching and Service Awards at JMU, and served as President of the Southeast American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Flohr’s research focused on women’s physical activity and cardiovascular disease risk.
