Hey everyone! We want to give a huge thank you to the Harrisonville Cub Scouts Pack #4003 for spending the evening painting pumpkins with our beloved residents! So many wonderful memories, smiles, and laughs were shared while enjoying hot chocolate, delicious cookies, and coffee. To top it all off, Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin played in the background, making the night even more special. Our residents absolutely loved having you all and are already looking forward to many more upcoming events together! Thank you again for making this evening so memorable!

As the weather changes, our love here at Meadowview remains strong. October has been filled with activities and moments that continue to create lasting memories throughout the year. Everyone enjoyed singing, painting, pie socials, and the unforgettable visit from our Magical Unicorn, bringing joy to our beloved residents and staff during an early Halloween candy tasting. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Cass County Memorial VFW Post #4409 for making one of our dreams come true with the installation of a new flagpole. The flag-raising ceremony, complete with the new USA flag accompanying POW/MIA flag flying proudly above the building, as well as the retirement of our old flag was a powerful tribute. Thank you to all our veterans, their families, and residents who attended and made this event truly special.

Hey everyone! October is here and September just flew by! Our residents had an amazing time last month with so many fun activities. We laughed and reminisced while painting, bobbed for apples, and enjoyed the apple dipping station. Music filled the air with awesome performances by Allen Lockhart, Paul, and Tom that truly lifted everyone’s spirits. Grandma's Kitchen was cooking up a storm as usual, and our staff took part in a valuable Dementia Training event to better understand and support our beloved residents. Keifer from VNA Hospice joined us to test everyone's knowledge with Family Feud as well as flipping birdies that was challenging to fly into the box! Stay tuned because October is packed with even more excitement here at Meadowview!

Here's an interesting fact about October: its name originates from the Latin word "octo," translating to "eight," as it was the eighth month in the ancient Roman calendar, although it is currently the tenth month. October is also characterized by the changing colors of leaves in various regions, the observance of holidays such as Halloween and Columbus Day, and a period of folklore known as "St. Luke's Little Summer," a brief period of pleasant, dry weather.
