Children and Family Counseling Associates serves individuals of all ages in the office, at school, and at home. Our highly trained staff create individualized treatment plans with an emphasis on promoting the client's choice, inclusion, growth, and development. Services include:

We had the most wonderful time at our Academy on Main Christmas party last night!! Another amazing year is winding down for CAFCA! 🎄🎅 We all had such a great time at our annual staff Christmas party last night! We are so grateful to have this time together to catch up, eat great food, and enjoy many laughs (and some sing-a-longs!) with great friends ☺️ We are feeling grateful for 25 years of service to our community and great work with this amazing group of people!

Thank you to Biscuits Barbecue, The 19th Hole, and Sweets by Cindy for making our delicious meal!! Staff gifts from 10th Planet also turned out beautifully! We have always had a great experience with these local businesses!!

Happy Thanksgiving from The Academy on Main! 🦃 We are so grateful to have an amazing group of friends and family to celebrate the holiday with! Thank you to our staff and volunteers who served up a truly delicious feast today!! 😋 We have some talented cooks!! Thank you to all who attended lunch today, it has been so wonderful to get to spend this time together. We hope everyone has a safe, fun Thanksgiving!

Our Story

Susan Campbell Turner, Licensed Psychological Practitioner, founded CAFCA in 2000. With a Master's degree in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morehead University, she also holds certifications as a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor, Certified Autism Specialist and is an Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing certified clinician. Susan had an extensive background in hospital psychiatric work prior to starting CAFCA, Inc. She has operated a successful private practice since 2000 and currently employs approximately 45 Therapists, Behavior Specialists, Community Living Support and Therapeutic Child Support professionals. CAFCA, Inc. successfully provided services to hundreds of families between 2000 and 2019. Our approach to meeting the clients where they are allows family a variety of choices in their mental health care. Care can be provided in a traditional office setting, in the home, school or community setting, Character Quest After-School program or through our Academy on Main Day Training facility.
