We are excited to welcome Brandon Tudor, LPCA to CAFCA! 🤗 Brandon has earned his Bachelors Degree in Psychology at Eastern Kentucky University and his Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. He is originally from Richmond, and loves spending his free time with his amazing wife and two dogs. He is also a huge baseball fan, so he’s always up for a good conversation on the sport!

He's taken off in the Garrard Co. Schools and our Richmond office, already serving his clients well! We are grateful to have him on our team!

We are excited to welcome Abby Sheffer, CSW to CAFCA!! Abby graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a B.A. in Human Services and Counseling and her Masters of Social Work from Campbellsville University. She is currently a CSW working towards her LCSW. In her free time she loves going to concerts and thrifting.

💚 She has joined our school and office based team in Garrard, Mercer, and Madison County! We are so glad to have her onboard!!

What a treat we have had today! Faith Dunn, a Harrodsburg Native and current St. Louis resident, graciously provided us with Easter baskets! Alleluia Baskets, a non profit out of Missouri provided our clients with loads of great goodies. Alleluia baskets alleluia.baskets are completely donations and volunteers based. It meant the world to us that they would think about us in their busy season! A couple of our friends at The Academy knew Faith, and were thrilled to have her in town for a moment!

Also, a special thanks to Donna Linton, our pal at the library for making this connection for us!

💭 If you are thinking to yourself "I'm not flexible enough... strong enough... mobile enough... etc..." You are wrong!! Classes will have lots of options and opportunity to gently stretch and calm your body & mind 🤗

☃ After the cold snap and several days stuck at home, we know that heat and utility bills are a looming worry for many families in our community. Our non-profit provides utility assistance for families who are seeking mental health care for themselves and/or their children! We have already received a record number of requests for help this month that have been paid through the generous grant we received from LG&E and KU! To continue to meet the needs in our community, we will be accepting pay-what-you-can donations at class. Wether you are able to give or not, we hope to see you for some gentle stretching and heart warming time spent together!!

Our Valentine’s Day was filled with so much love from all of our friends at and around CAFCA! We were lucky to see so many friendly faces and be reminded that love comes from all around us, not just from a significant other. 💕

🥞 We started the morning at the Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast, we are grateful to Noel and Susan Turner who bought our tickets! We were a little too busy enjoying our pancakes to snap any pictures. 🤦‍♀️

🌹 Next, we made beautiful bouquets with our friend Kelly, using flowers generously donated by our friends at Royalty’s Florist. It was so fun to see how different each bouquet turned out, even though we all used the same three florals!

♥️ Kathy Francis Caton from CAFCA administration kindly provided Valentine’s games for us, and we had such a blast. For some of our folks, it was their very first time playing Bingo! Afterward, we stuffed piñatas with candy and took turns smashing them, a great release for some and lots of laughs for the rest of us.

💃 Our friend Bailee Marcum joined us again for dance class, which has been happening every Friday for the past month. We’ve loved sweating, laughing, and not taking ourselves too seriously! Stay tuned for a special dance performance coming this spring!

🍕 We wrapped up the day by making pizzas. CAFCA graciously provided the supplies, and Michelle Baker thoughtfully picked everything up for us. She always makes sure to choose ingredients that bring comfort while still including some fresh, balanced options.

🐶 And to top it all off, we had a SWEET visitor stop by, Vino! He’s currently looking for a home and has the gentlest, happiest disposition. Many of us (those who wanted to!) enjoyed giving him pats and kisses. We’ve posted his picture at the Academy and are hoping to hear about his adoption soon. Thank you to Sarah Steele for including us in his journey! You can find more information about this sweet boy through Puppy Love KY.

Thank you to EVERYONE who made this day possible. We never take for granted the way our friends and community pour into us. We are so grateful.

Welcome, Marissa Yost, to our CAFCA internship program! 🤗 Having grown up in southeast Asia, Marissa is now earning her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Equine-Assisted Services at Asbury University. She is completing her senior year practicum at CAFCA and hopes to pursue a graduate degree. We are grateful to have her on board!

🎓 We love getting to know and work with Bachelors and Masters level students as they complete practicums for their degrees! It's a valuable time to explore options for their careers post-graduation.
