Did you know? Physical therapy can be helpful for a lot more than aches and pains. Physical therapy can also help build strength and assist children in reaching gross motor milestones (walking, running, jumping, catching, etc).

Meet Jeff: Jeff has been working hard in PT for several months now. Since starting physical therapy, Jeff says he is able to run faster and is better able to play catch with friends. He also says he looks forward to gym class. Keep an eye out on the basketball court for Jeff, as he hopes to try out for basketball in the spring!

Sure, physical therapy can be a lot of work. But it can be FUN too!

We are so excited to announce that in collaboration with Cumberland Gap's own Barley Made It Running Club, we are hosting our inaugural Blood Sweat & Beers 5k this year! The race will be held on July 15 at 8am prior to the festival's opening. Registration will officially open on Monday, May 1. Runners will receive an unbeatable swag bag as well as a gift from Angelo's in the Gap! This 5k is going to be one you won't forget and is made possible by our incredible partners at Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy, HOKA, and Angelo's in the Gap.
Not a runner? No problem! Remember, as they say at run club - "Run, walk, or crawl...you just barley have to make it! We're here for the beer!"

🎣 Patient Spotlight ⛳️

Meet Charles "Bo" Goodin.

He's been a resident of Harrogate, TN for 8 years, however he is a native of Pinevile, KY.

Bo has worked for Powell Valley Electric for 23 years and was with Kentucky Utilities prior to that.

Recently, Mr. Goodin has been committed to rehabilitating from a ankle replacement with an emphasis on improved balance, range of motion, and gait quality.

After over 40 years of ankle problems, and with hard work and dedication to therapy, his ankle function has returned with minimal pain!

Bo has graduated with a home exercise program to continue his progress.

He is excited to return to golfing and fishing this spring as the weather heats up!

🥶 Frozen Shoulder ❄️

Adhesive capsulitis, or as it is more commonly referred to, frozen shoulder, is a severe and long-term problem.

It affects 3-5% of the general population, women slightly more than men, typically between 40-60 years old, and is 4x more likely in people with diabetes.

The cause of primary adhesive capsulitis is unknown, but secondary adhesive capsulitis occurs when there is already known primary injury to the shoulder. However, the recovery process can be faster with physical therapy, and you can return to your previous full function.
