I start nearly every class with a few mindful shoulder rolls, forward and up with the inhale, back and down with the exhale. And now I know why.

Turns out a shoulder roll can drop your blood pressure, which may be the reason for the pleasurable sensation.

Though my primary studio affiliation is with Yoga, Dance & Fitness in the Mill Building in Tariffville, I also teach chair yoga at Anthology of Simsbury and all-levels yoga at the Heirloom Flats apartments in Bloomfield. I have had, and loved, several yoga "homes" during my years as a yoga teacher. My new one is the lovely YDF Center - A Yoga & Dance Studio in Tariffville (part of Simsbury) in the historic mill building on the Farmington River.
