Yesterday, three City of Hartford Supervisors, Ebony Jackson-Shaheed (Director of Health & Human Services), Jessica Fourquet (Deputy Director of Health & Human Services), and Patricia McIntosh (Deputy Director of Social Services) received the Patriot Award, presented by ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve).

This award recognizes supervisors and leaders who go above and beyond to support service members in the National Guard and Reserve through flexibility, understanding, and a strong commitment to their dual roles in service and workplace.

We are especially grateful to our service member and Epidemiologist, Daniela Babcock, whose nomination made this recognition possible.

A special thank you to City of Hartford COO, Olusegun Ajavi “Shay”, for being present to share this moment. Your presence underscored the importance of this recognition and the leadership support behind the work we do every day and the commitment and support to our service members.

Warming centers will be open starting on Friday, January 23 until noon on Wednesday, January 28.

"We've activated the severe cold weather protocol to ensure Hartford residents have easy access to a place they can go to stay warm," said Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. “If you are in need of shelter over the next few days, please make sure to head to one of these day time warming locations or call 2-1-1 for the nearest overnight warming shelter.”
