- Cash or check which can be given to any of our volunteers or to the church secretary
- Come to our next blood pressure screening in the community center on Sunday, 9/7 at 10:30am to donate in-person

We are looking for more donations to be able to purchase an AED for the church. Our goal is to do this by the end of the summer before our grant expires. So far we've raised about a third of our goal, thank you to all who've donated so far!

Ways to donate:
- Venmo and write in caption 'OLF AED fundraiser'
- Cash or check which can be given to any of our volunteers or to the church secretary
- Come by to our next blood pressure screening in the community center on Sunday, 8/3 at 10:30am to donate in-person

Any amount will help us reach our goal and make having an AED in our church a reality! Your donation can help save a life one day. We will post an update once we've raised enough funds and purchased the AED.

OLF Nursing Ministry - Meet the Team: Nurse Claudia
When we asked Claudia to share with us about herself and why she joined our ministry here's what she had to say:
"I’ve been a nurse for almost 3 years at Hartford Hospital. I joined the Nursing Ministry because I’ve always been passionate about helping others especially our Portuguese community. It’s an honor to be able to serve our community members and doing so by speaking our language! A fun fact about me is that I lived in Portugal until I was 13!
Thanks for being a vital member of our ministry, Claudia😄. If you want to join our nursing ministry, please reach out or connect with one of our volunteers for more information.
Our next blood pressure screening is this Sunday, 7/6 from 10:30am-11:45am. We hope to see you there! 🩺

OLF Nursing Ministry - Meet the Team
Sara is one of our incredible nurse volunteers who has been with us since the beginning. Sara shares "I joined the nursing ministry because I thought it was the perfect way to give back to the Portuguese community and be more involved. I am a nurse manager for a primary care and infectious disease clinics serving the community of Hartford. My husband and I have 2 kids, and we are a big soccer family. Both kids play year-round and we spend a lot of our time watching them on the field. We also love our golden retriever, Brady!"
Thanks for being a part of our nursing ministry, Sara - we're so grateful to have you!

Our next blood pressure screening is this Sunday, 4/6 from 10:30-11:45am in the community center. Come by to get your blood pressure checked and meet some of our nurses. 😁🩺

OLF Nursing Ministry - Meet the Team

Pictured is Rebecca, our Nursing Ministry Leader, who works part-time at a local birthing center as an RN and is in school full-time to become a nurse midwife. Rebecca shares, "I started the nursing ministry as I am passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of our church community and I wanted to share the gifts God gave me as a health professional within our church. It's been a joy to get to know members of our Portuguese community through the ministry. A fun fact about me is that I am the oldest of 5 siblings!"

Our next blood pressure screening is this Sunday, 3/2 from 10:30-11:45am. Come by to meet Rebecca and our other volunteers, get your blood pressure checked, and learn more about our ministry. If you'd like to volunteer with us, please reach out!😁🩺
