The Center is directed by Dr. Godfrey Pearlson, Professor of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine. David Glahn and Michael C. Stevens, Michal Assaf, Vaughn Steele, Patricia Gruner, and Alecia Dager. The Center faculty have research interests in many aspects of cognitive function including normal aging, working and long term memory, spatial navigation, salience detection, orienting processes, error monitoring, language and attention. We examine these cognitive processes in schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, manic-depressive illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Huntington's chorea, drug abuse, and psychopathy. The Center is supported by grants from the National Institute of Health, (NIMH, NINDS, NIA and NIDA) totaling several million dollars. The Center faculty also provide mentorship and training for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellows.

Research volunteers needed! The Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center in Hartford is looking to recruit right-handed teens ages 12-18 with and without ADHD for participation in a research study. We are exploring a new treatment for ADHD involving training your brain with computer tasks.
Teens with and without ADHD who participate will complete a clinical interview, 2 in-person visits each involving non-invasive fMRIs, questionnaires, and computer tasks. Teens with ADHD will also complete 5 weeks of remote brain training exercises between the 2 in-person visits and 1 remote 3 month follow up visit involving questionnaires and computer tasks. Participants will be compensated $20 per hour.

We are looking to recruit right handed individuals ages 18-50 with depression who are NOT currently taking any psychotropic medication for participation in a research study. This research study is exploring how increasing mastery of emotion regulation skills may change brain function. You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
Ages 12-30
Noticing a recent change in thinking, behavior, or experiences, such as:
Confusion about what is real or imaginary
Feeling not in control of your own thoughts of ideas
Feeling suspicious or paranoid
Having experiences that may not be real, such as hearing sounds or seeing things that may not be there
Having trouble communicating clearly

Most people who have these symptoms do not go on to develop psychosis. We are trying to understand why some people have these experiences do develop psychosis while many others do not.
