Earlier this month, we had an incredible day of collaboration with our partners from Baxter and Maximum Fidelity Surgical Simulations (MaxFi)! Together, we hosted a full-day training event for multiple disciplines across Hartford Healthcare 🏥.

These hands-on sessions are essential for helping surgeons sharpen their skills, enhance patient safety, and deliver top-tier care in the OR 💉.

Another year, another incredible turnout at the Tactical Rescue Challenge! 💪 This time, CESI brought along Sim-Dog Axel and Trauma Dan to put participants to the test. Teams were challenged to extract and treat them just like real patients in the field.

Huge thanks to the amazing staff, dedicated volunteers, and all the participants who make this one of our favorite events to support every year. 👏

CESI On The Go! Check out this conference summary from our Simulation Tech, Brenden Race.

"Just got back from an incredible week at the SimGHOSTS 2025 Conference in Nashville, Tennessee where I had the opportunity to share and learn alongside some of the most innovative minds in healthcare simulation.

I presented two projects on behalf of Hartford Healthcare and CESI:

“Please Don’t Defibrillate Me!” – a 5-minute mini-poster session showcasing how our ACAP 2.0 initiative transformed a real safety event into a realistic mock code scenario. This demonstrated how we connected Laerdal LLEAP with REDCap to improve in-hospital emergency response training and data tracking.

“From Printer to Patient” – a 30-minute hands-on session in which I walked through the development of a 3D printed and silicone Ommaya port trainer. This included a live Ommaya tap procedure for attendees, showing how this low-cost solution can bring high-fidelity neuro-oncology simulation to more institutions.

Grateful for the chance to represent CESI and proud to bring home new insights and connections that will help elevate our work in simulation-based healthcare education."
