We were excited to share more about Parkville Care Center’s new in-house dialysis center during a recent featured segment on WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News.

This new service means residents who require dialysis can now receive treatment right here at Parkville, in the comfort of the place they call home. That means less stress, fewer transportation challenges, and more seamless care from the team that knows them best. 💙

Chris Wright’s leadership has always been grounded in something bigger than operations, metrics, or policy alone: people.

In Provider’s recent feature, “The Leader Behind the Numbers,” Chris reflects on the experiences that shaped his perspective and the vision he brings to his role as Chair of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Board of Governors.

In the accompanying interview, Chris frames that vision through the “three P’s” — people, purpose, and progress — a reminder that meaningful advocacy begins by keeping residents, caregivers, and communities at the center of the conversation.

We’re proud to see Chris’s leadership and commitment to service recognized in this feature.

During Social Workers Month, we’re proud to recognize the incredible social workers across iCare Health Network who help guide residents and families through some of life’s most complex moments. 💙

Social workers play an essential role in skilled nursing and long-term care, supporting residents whose needs often extend far beyond clinical care alone. From leading care plan meetings and completing PASRRs to helping address behavioral health needs, cognitive challenges, housing insecurity, and discharge planning, their work is both deeply practical and profoundly compassionate.

They advocate, coordinate, problem-solve, and collaborate across disciplines to help ensure every resident receives thoughtful, individualized support — no matter how complex the situation may be.

This year’s Social Workers Month theme from the National Association of Social Workers, Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform., reflects the impact they make each day in our centers.

To all of our social workers: thank you for your expertise, persistence, and unwavering commitment to the people we serve.

We’re proud to celebrate an exciting step forward at Parkville Care Center: our in-house hemodialysis program is now fully operational!

This new service allows residents who require regular dialysis treatments to receive the care they need right here at Parkville, in the comfort of a familiar and supportive environment. By offering dialysis on-site, residents can avoid the strain of frequent travel to outside clinics while benefiting from more coordinated care across nursing, rehabilitation, nutrition services, and social work.

The addition of in-house dialysis reflects Parkville’s continued commitment to expanding specialty services and meeting the needs of residents with compassionate, comprehensive care.

We’re thrilled to bring this advanced level of support to our community and proud to continue growing the services available under one roof.

🌟 Celebrating Long Term Care Administrators Week! 🌟

Meet Jennifer Johnson, Administrator at Parkville Care Center. Jennifer is dedicated to creating a warm, inviting, and home-like environment where residents feel valued, supported, and safe. 💙

Reflecting on the past year, Jennifer shared:

“Last year was a tremendous year for me as an Administrator! I watched my team make me proud through and through. I am an admirer of their resiliency, reliability, and the sense of community that they uphold, not only amongst each other but towards our residents and families. All of these characteristics contribute to the accomplishment that I am most proud of this past year, winning the Bronze National Quality Award. This award signifies our intentionality towards providing safe, compassionate, and dignified care to our residents, whom we love and cherish. It shows what we have built as a team and the product of us working hand in hand towards the visions that we share. Togetherness creates a path for excellence to bloom, and I look forward to continuing to walk that path with my team in 2026!”

Thank you, Jennifer, for your dedication, heart, and vision in making Parkville Care Center a true home for all who live and work there. 👏

Last week, we proudly celebrated Activities Professionals Day, recognizing the dedicated Therapeutic Recreation, Life Enrichment, and Activities teams across iCare Health Network - the creative and compassionate professionals behind so many meaningful moments for our residents.

Quality of life is shaped by more than clinical care alone. It’s built through connection, engagement, laughter, and purpose. Our Activities Professionals bring these elements to life every day, designing programs that support physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being - from group activities and celebrations to meaningful one-on-one interactions.

Established by the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP), Activities Professionals Day is observed annually on the fourth Friday of January to honor those who enhance quality of life through person-centered, therapeutic engagement.

Across iCare, our Activities Professionals foster community, champion holistic wellness, build trusted relationships, and create experiences that bring joy and meaning to daily life.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every Activities Director, Recreation Team Member, and Life Enrichment Specialist across our network. Thank you for all that you do.
