Against the odds, through stress, steel, and solitude—I’m so proud when my incarcerated clients produce large volumes of liquid gold.

During our lactation visit I praised and reminded the new Mama that it was more than a syringe of colostrum—it’s a testament to the strength, resilience, and love for her baby.

Supporting some of the most vulnerable women in our society, especially during one of the most tender and sacred transitions of their lives, is a calling I do not take lightly.

Even behind walls and under pressure, these mamas show up for their babies with a fierce kind of love—the kind that says, “Even in here, I am still your mother.”

I am so proud of their ability to nourish life when the world often fails to nourish them.
