The Consumer and Family Advisory Council (CFAC) for Carelon Behavioral Health and the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership (CTBHP), is excited to announce the 10th Annual iCAN Conference. This event is a tenth year anniversary milestone, and CFAC is excited to celebrate this significant accomplishment. This year's theme is: partnering for the Improvement of Mental Health and Substance use Disorder Services, while Facing Adversity.

It’s one of the universal worries all parents share - harm coming to a loved one. DDS protocols around abuse and neglect have left parents with questions, frustration and few answers. Thankfully, some of those parents worked with the CT legislature to pass a bill that will make improvements at DDS. That is a win for all DDS families.

This is a massive injustice and oversight by our current administration. Research is overwhelming for the need of mental health education/ support in public schools and the implications it has for adulthood. Stand up for our youth's mental health and quality of life.

The Trump administration is moving to cancel $1 billion in school mental health grants, saying the award reflect the priorities of the previous administration.

People First of CT is an all- volunteer organization of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They are not going to be getting any more funding since all sources have been shut down.

People First members planned and organized this fundraiser so they can continue to advocate for many important things like housing, employment, Assistive Technology for independence, and most critically for no reduction in Medicaid and other safety net programs being slashed. They need these programs for support and because of ongoing discrimination in employment.

The Connecticut General Assembly Special Education Committee is holding a listening tour across the state between 2/4 and 2/13. They are looking to hear concerns about special education in CT, specifically in the areas of funding, outplacement, and staffing.
