Judah House

Judah House Providing transitional services to women, their children and to DCF aged-out youth. Helping them gain skills and services normally closed to them.

Judah House began in 2006 in Hartford’s North End in a leased property. The intention was to house 10 women who were returning to the community from incarceration, mental health facilities, or substance abuse treatment. In 2008, we moved to a newly constructed house on Vine Street and began to provide faith-based counseling and case management services to men and women. We also offered training, housing assistance, and other supports and resources to help clients stabilize in the community. In 2010, Judah House decided to return to our mission of serving women and to begin including services to these women’s children. We also began providing services to DCF (Department of Children and Families) aged-out youth, to help these young women transition to independent housing. Besides just providing a safe place to live, we offer an array of employment, life, spiritual, and emotional support. The mission of Judah House “is to empower those in our community by providing access to opportunities for healing, education and employment.”
