The Malta House of Care Clinic has been providing free primary health care to uninsured adults in Greater Hartford since 2006. Thanks to a small paid staff and passionate corps of medical volunteers, Malta has provided more than 60,000 free visits to about 10,000 patients — and counting. As an independent non-profit, Malta receives no public funding, but instead is supported 100% by philanthropy —
more than $1 million per year from corporations, foundations, family funds, individuals, and other non-profits like Trinity Health of New England and the Archdiocese of Hartford. Together with our supporters, we strive to reduce geographical and financial barriers to health care and provide a path to better health for thousands of adults who might otherwise turn to the ER for care — or receive no care at all.
