Yesterday was Kabuki Syndrome Awareness Day💚
Kabuki Sydrome affects 1 in 32,000 individuals. This includes precious Evie, the daughter of our Mrs. Shea. Yesterday we wore green to support her and others like her. Thank you to all who participated!

When I woke up, I learned that the infection had taken both my hands and both of my legs. I was now a quadruple amputee.

💩 Pay attention to your child’s p**p 💩 See below 😃

Let's Talk About P**p! Understanding Your Stool Consistency with the Bristol Stool Chart 💩

Let's dive into the Bristol Stool Chart—a handy tool to help you understand your stool consistency and what it might mean for you or your child's ability to eliminate (AKA P**p).

The Bristol Stool Chart categorizes stools into seven types: (see photo)

What Does It Mean for Ease of Elimination?

Type 1-2: Hard to Pass. These types indicate constipation. You might strain or feel discomfort during elimination. Increasing your fiber and water intake can help.
Type 3-4: Ideal Consistency. These types are the easiest to pass and are considered the healthiest. They indicate a balanced diet, good hydration, and adequate motility.
Type 5: Easy to Pass. While still easy to pass, softer stools like this might indicate a need for a bit more fiber in your diet.
Type 6-7: Too Easy to Pass. These types are often associated with diarrhea. They might pass too quickly through the digestive system, leading to potential nutrient absorption issues. This type may also be hard to keep in (contributing to f***l incontinence).

Remember, your bowel movements are a key indicator of your overall health. If you notice any persistent changes or have concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional.

May we all be mindful of what we speak into our children’s day and how we speak into their day.

Our words carry weight.
Let’s speak life, encouragement, and positivity into our children. Even if they are having an off day, let’s speak positive words to set them up for success.

They’re always listening, even when we think they’re not. 💛

Pediatric Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapies in DOWNTOWN HARTSELLE, ALABAMA!

We are OPEN for Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapies for all children ages 0 - 18 years. We have been and currently still are working hard to dedicate 100% of this building to our special pals! A feeding area, a sensory room, a sensory gym, classroom simulation, emotion regulation, handwriting and more. Believe us when we say we are thinking of everything to cater to our patients. We will be an allergy friendly and cleanliness aware clinic too. We have replaced the air units, cleaned the ducts, removed all carpet, will have special allergen reducing air units with top notch filters running 24/7, cleaning only with non-toxic cleaners, no loud fragrances and have even thought of the type of soap to place in the restrooms to ensure we are keeping our word and decreasing any kind of discomfort that some products can bring to our kiddos, especially our non-verbal friends. We want our kids to know this is a safe place, a fun place and a place where they feel loved. But we do not want to forget about our parents/guardians either so we are making the waiting room extra special too so relax, we got it! Caring is all in the details. We are excited to see you.
