Pittsburg County Pilates Offering private Mat and Reformer lessons from my home studio, as well as virtual sessions via Zoom. Pilates tightens what's loose and loosens what's tight.

Pilates is a low impact form of exercise that anyone of any age or fitness level can do. The Reformer apparatus challenges and aids in promoting muscle development and imbalances in the body.

The Beginning

My Mother and I found Pilates at the same time. We attended our first Pilates class together at the McAlester Regional Wellness Center. My Dad was recuperating from open heart surgery, they joined the Wellness Center, and I was her guest on this particular day. We laughed all the way through it. We had a hard time sitting upright, cross legged. My Roll Up is just as bad today as it was back then, but we were hooked.

My Mother began attending class regularly and eventually began teaching Pilates. It was her prompting that lead me to become certified and start teaching Mat classes at the same Wellness Center we took our first class. Five years later, I have Pilates certifications in Mat I, II & III; Pre & Post Natal Pilates and Reformer I, II & III. I teach Mat classes at the McAlester Regional Wellness Center and the Choctaw Wellness Center three days a week.

I love Pilates because anyone can do it. You can be thin, thick, tall, short, young or old. You don’t need to be in shape or have muscles. Pilates meets you where you are. Thanks to my Pilates practice, I have more control over my body. No more stumbling down the hall, bouncing from wall to wall. My posture is great and I’m more flexible at 55 than I was at 25.
