Good nutrition isn’t about perfection; it’s about making choices that support your health, one meal at a time.

During National Nutrition Month, we’re celebrating the small steps that lead to big results:
➡️ Adding more fruits and vegetables
➡️ Drinking plenty of water
➡️Practicing portion control
➡️ Including lean proteins and whole grains
➡️ Talking with your provider about personalized nutrition goals

Healthy eating fuels energy, supports heart health, and helps manage conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. It’s all connected, and it starts with your plate.

Lab results can feel like a foreign language, but understanding your cholesterol and A1C levels is key to protecting your heart and managing diabetes risk.

Cholesterol:
➡️ LDL ("bad") should be low
➡️ HDL ("good") should be higher

Triglycerides matter, too
A1C:
This number reflects your average blood sugar over the past 3 months. A high A1C may signal prediabetes or diabetes, even if you feel fine.

Your provider will explain what these numbers mean for you and what steps can help improve them over time.

When it comes to your heart, precision matters. That’s why we offer advanced cardiac imaging, including CT scans and stress tests, right here at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

These noninvasive tools help detect blockages, monitor blood flow, and assess heart function, often before symptoms appear. Whether you’re managing heart disease or checking your risk, timely imaging can help guide the next steps in your care.

Ask your provider for a referral or call 706.213.2569 to learn more.
